  • Faith and Climate Groups Urge TD and Others Banks to Stop Funding Fossil Fuels
    On Friday Oct. 14, faith and climate groups protested in Albany about the ongoing financing of fossil fuel projects by TD Bank and other financial institutions. More than 100 people gathered across from the bank in East Capitol Park. We hear from a number of faith speakers talk about the moral need to respond to climate change.     New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Commissioner Basil Seggos and Attorney General Letitia James filled a lawsuit against the Norlite hazardous waste incinerator and aggregate facility. Seggos and James are trying to force the company to stop polluting the air with contaminants from its Cohoes facility. Andrea Cunliffe talked with Dave Publow of Lights Out Norlite to get the story.

  • Refugee Awareness Week at Russell Sage College
    The Women’s Institute at Russell Sage College is holding Refugee Awareness Week from October 17-21, 2022. The Institute’s visiting affiliate scholar Diya Abdo will be a part of refugee-awareness programming throughout the academic year.
    Shelly Calabrese, Executive Director of the Women's Institute at Russell Sage College, and Dr. Diya Abdo, professor, author, and founder of the Every Campus A Refuge (ECAR) initiative, spoke with Hudson Mohawk Magazine's Sina Basila Hickey.

  • Clear Air Action Sues Moreau Over Saratoga Sewage Sludge Biochar Plant
    The Clean Air Action Network has filed suit against the Town of Moreau planning board for violating the State Environmental Quality Review Act in greenlighting the Saratoga Biochar Solutions factory. The group claims that Plant would threaten public health and safety, worsen local air pollution, and release carcinogenic “forever” chemicals.     Mihai Marica, a cellist with Salon Séance, spoke with Hudson Mohawk Magazine correspondent Andrea Cunliffe about the interdisciplinary collaboration that Salon Séance will perform at the Sanctuary based on Olivier Messiane’s "Quartet for the End of Time.” The performance, Salon Séance: “The End of Time,” will take place on Nov. 19, at 7pm and channels the human connection though music and the ritual of séance.
