On Wednesday, the social media company unveiled a series of new measuresin its fight against harassment on the site, which ran particularly rampantduring the 2016 presidential campaign. The changes include increased automatic screening for abusive tweets, more powerful filtering options for users and greater transparency from Twitter about how it’s dealing with abusive accounts.

That was among the many clear warnings that oil giant Shell issued in a film it produced about climate change more that 25 years ago. Many environmentalists, however, argue that the company has largely ignored its own alarm bells. The 1991 film, “Climate of Concern,” resurfaced Tuesday on the Dutch online news outletThe Correspondent.

Google is celebrating this week’s planetary discovery with a home page doodle that’s out of this world. UPSreleased video this week of its first completed test delivery by drone. The company said it hopes this will be a major liftoff in changing its day-to-day operations. The video posted to YouTube Tuesday shows the top of one of the company’s brown delivery trucks in Florida sliding open to reveal a launch pad. The truck’s driver then activates the drone from inside, causing the device to lift off to a predetermined location.

Former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder will lead Uber’s investigation into sexual harassment claims made by an ex-employee, the company told its workforce on Monday. In an email obtained by Reuters, The Guardian and other news organizations, Uber CEO Travis Kalanick told his employees that Holder will lead an “independent review” of the claims that former Uber engineer Susan Fowler made in her now-viral blog post, as well as broader diversity issues at the company.

I have just read Susan Fowler’s blog. What she describes is abhorrent and against everything Uber stands for and believes in. It’s the first time this has come to my attention so I have instructed Liane Hornsey our new Chief Human Resources Officer to conduct an urgent investigation into these allegations.

The problem with American infrastructure maintenance seems a bit worse than some of us realized: a new report says that nearly 56,000 bridges in the U.S. are “structurally deficient.” The bridges are traversed an estimated 185 million times daily. Among the highest- profile “deficient” bridges are the Brooklyn Bridge and the Arlington Memorial Bridge in Washington D.C.
