Aid groups are warning more than 600,000 children under the age of five are now at risk of violence, disease, and hunger as the humanitarian crisis worsens in Sudan.

This week, the United Nations Children's Fund found almost 1,200 cholera cases — including around 300 in children —  in North Darfur State since the end of June.

The area has absorbed half a million internally displaced people fleeing violence since April 2023, mostly from the besieged capital El Fasher.
