Welcome to a new season of Humans of Law Land
For those of you who are new to Humans of Law Land this podcast is a platform, where people from diverse backgrounds come to share their law success stories, and lessons learned. This is not just ethnic and linguistic diversity, but diversity of thinking, age and area of legal practice. That being said, the main diversity we are concerned with remains ethnic and gender diversity because the lack of diversity in the Australian legal system is problematic – with the high Court still being a white boys club since 1901, a trend which unfortunately is reflective of the top tiers of the legal profession.
In addition to showcasing the diverse voices that are in the legal profession, this podcast hopes to be your guide through your law journey. Law school is hard, we hope to make this experience as exciting and stress free as possible by sharing stories of people who have excelled in the profession and in law school, with an emphasis on sharing the stories of black, brown and Asian people because representation matters, we cannot become what we cannot see.

In this episode I speak with a lawyer who has really harnessed the art of using social media both for their personal brand and to attract clients. More than his innovativeness, Kyle has a unique perspective of the legal profession, from how he got into it to how he manages to stay mentally well. Kyle is someone you definitely want to hear from.
In this episode I speak with Duranka on how he has managed to gain work experience and navigate law school as an International student.
In this episode Lee and I discuss Johnny Depp's libel case. We ask whether the judgement was fair, whether Johnny Depp was abused by Amber, we consider whether judge Nicoles should have recused himself.
In this episode I talk about how I bounced back from getting 79 clerkship rejections back in 2019. I know that clerkship confirmation letters are out this month and this one is for those of you feeling a little defeated. Hope you enjoy it.
