Elder Quentin L. Cook of the Quorum of Twelve Apostles for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints addressed the Law Society at its annual fireside in 2009. As an attorney by profession, he shares some of his legal journey and perspective. His remarks focus on the pursuit of happiness and strengthening religious freedom.

As an attorney and academic by profession, he used his analytical skills to distinguish between what calls the “essential” and “non-essential.”

She discussed what she called “unprecedented assaults on religious freedom” and how religious freedom directly correlates with prosperity.

His remarks drew largely upon his experiences as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and focused on how he believes members of that faith can promote “civic charity” and the “bonds of affection.” This podcast features a substantial portion of those remarks.
