Blessings TRUTHseekers, we are back with part Ten of Knowing Your Identity. In this episode Boaz has found Ruth at his feet on the threshing floor revealing her heart for him. She has listened to Naomi's instructions and followed them completely... leaving no chance for error. Her covenant loyalty to God and Naomi has granted her Favor & Kindness from God and her hearts desires being met. She is trusting the process without hesitation or complaints. We also are able to take a closer look into the life of Boaz and see that he is called a Kinsman Redeemer which is a male relative who at his own expense, helps a weaker relative in need or danger. He avenges, delivers, rescues, and in many cases, redeems property. Boaz understood Naomi and Ruth's dilemma and took responsibility of a redeemer for Ruth so that Elimelech's family would not be blotted out amongst his people. Boaz showed great integrity when he did not to lie, cheat or cut corners when it came to explaining to Ruth that he was not the oldest kinsman redeemer... but the second in line. He would have to give him the opportunity first to redeem them as was the law. If the oldest kinsman redeemer rejected the claim, Boaz would be next in line and that's just what happened. Boaz was able to take Ruth as his wife (a Jew & a Gentile) and the Royal lineage continues!!! This story paints the picture of how Adam rejected the plans of God in the Garden subjecting all humanity to death but Jesus came as our kinsman Redeemer to avenge, rescue and deliver us back to Father and restore eternal life... our original state before sin through the shedding of His blood on Calvary so that we are not blotted out of eternity in heaven. Our Kinsman Redeemer Jesus, did not rest until the matter had been FINISHED!!!
Naomi, Ruth & Boaz's choices reveal to us that God's plans will always bring a greater outcome than our own! God made their names Great throughout history, blessings upon blessings were spoken over them, each one of their heart desires were fulfilled, provision overflowed continually and God's name was glorified!!! As we ponder on this story... ask yourself... Does what you want supersede what God wants?
