The Atlantic Basin is nice and quiet now that Sam has cleared the pattern. I don't see much to be concerned with over the coming days as the overall pattern is simply not too conducive for development.

On the other hand, a tropical depression is likely going to form in the southeast Pacific over the coming days and it could impact Mexico early next week. I will cover that item and a look ahead at when things might be more favorable again in the Atlantic during my video discussion later this afternoon via YouTube.

Now that Sam has transitioned into a large, powerful ocean storm we turn our attention to a few areas of interest across the Atlantic and the southeast Pacific. So, nothing looks too promising in terms of development but activity will likely pick up again within about a week. Sam is finally beginning to weaken as it moves off into the north Atlantic where it will transition into a large and powerful ocean storm. Meanwhile, the NHC is highlighting a new area of interest well off the Southeast coast that bears watching over the coming days.

Still tracking Sam and Victor as we move through the weekend.

Still very powerful category 4 hurricane Sam will pass to the east of Bermuda over the next couple of days with the potential for tropical storm conditions there. Meanwhile, we are watching TS Victor out in the open Atlantic but it will not affect land as it turns north and weakens over open water. As we begin the month of October, we will soon be needing to watch the Caribbean Sea for possible development as this region becomes more favorable as the month progresses.
