Husbands Talking on X is for Show

It’s been a controversial premiere so far for Season 17 of RuPaul’s Drag Race! While we got to meet all 14 queens up front, we’ve only seen half show their talent. While Lucky Starzzz dazzled and Susie Toot delighted, other queens struck a different chord with the audience. Will Acacia Forgot’s country charm be wasted on the RuPaul stage? How will she compare to fellow country queen Sam Star, or the rest of the second half? We will have all this PLUS the latest on Canada’s Drag Race with the final FOUR queens! Be sure to join us for all the Action right here on X Is For Show!

X IS FOR SHOW is a talk show for your favorite media, the same way THE OFFICE was a documentary about a paper company. Every week, THE ACTION PACK gathers to discuss a wide range of entertainment media and news, from film & TV to comics to gaming, music, and beyond. Led by showrunner NICO (@NicoAction) and producer KEVO (@KevoReally), as well as a variety of friends and special guests, these LIVE discussions are not to be missed - so be sure to tune in and join us for all the fun!

New Year, New Look, New Stage! After a cavalcade of spin-offs, the time has finally come for a brand new season of RuPaul’s Drag Race! We have FOURTEEN QUEENS to watch enter the Werk Room - including SIX drag family members of former contestants, AND a queen from the Action Pack’s home turf in Asbury Park, NJ! Will the drag child of Irene Dubois last longer than her? Did Luxx Noir London’s drag daughter inherit her style - and her sass? Is Trinity The Tuck seriously old enough to have a drag daughter AND granddaughter?!? We’ll be gathering to discuss what will most likely be just the beginning of Season 17’s premiere, so join us as we break down all the highs AND lows!

Let’s get BRUNCHED! It’s time to talk about that finale (was it a talent show or a setlist?), the second week of Canada, plus more tea and talk! Kicking things off, the team dishes about the second half of that two-part finale, which watches like a bunch of singles, new staples, and then Shannel juggling. It left the season off on an odd note, not reaching the heights of Seasons 7 or 8, but the winners (and ALL the girls) were definitely deserving. Still, the second week of Canada Vs The World overshadowed it with some killer comedy. It’s all this and more on an all new BRUNCH EDITION of X Is For Show!

Holy Guacamole! Rusicals are a tradition, and this season of All Stars plays into the best parts of the annual challenge, with pre-recorded vocals by the girls, incredible storytelling, and amazing costuming. And then there’s the girls’ performances: Roxxxy’s vocals, Nina’s presence, Jorgeous’s, uh, sexy murder bot dance? But also watch for some GAGGY badge math, some WEIRD decisions, and also a lot of love for a great episode. All this and more on all new X Is For Show!

In honor of All Stars 9’s brand new Rusical, Rosemarie’s Baby Shower, the team takes a look at ALL SEVENTEEN U.S. season Rusicals and ranks them out. How many have live vocals? Math is wacky, numbers are crazy, and these Queens are having a moment – Angeria snips wild, Gottmik gets mad, and Plastique loses another lipsync. The Dolls were in full force tonight, if a little tame, darling. And the challenge is a little weird – it’s a Rusic tribute but it also…has nothing to do with music? Because next week is the Rusical. And then it was a fashion challenge – so of course Miss Roxxxy was turned aaaaaallllllll the way up. Meanwhile, some girls get no screentime. It’s another wild on an all new RPDR All Stars on X Is For Show!

Slapped & Gagged. Girl, first off, this thing is for charity – so everyone’s trying their hardest to win. Second, it’s RPDR, so everyone is trying real hard to get that win. The politics of the season are beginning to take their toll on the girls (and the storyline) as Roxxxy, who turned casting her cut into a two-act musical, came for Angeria’s antics like she was Roxxxy’s understudy. Then there was the fruit, and the challenge, and lots of slapping, and the playback went on for a minute – and there was STILL time for a drop in cameo from RPDR legend Jaida Essence Hall! So come kick back and hang with us while we talk Drag Race on an all new X Is For Show!

We don’t just watch the show: we know the looks, know the moves, and we sing the damn songs as loud as we can. The early years lacked the single-ification that later RPDR would come to be defined by, but it’s impossible to miss how central to the identity of the show music has always been. And now thanks to the magic of Tiermaker, kick back with a House of Love cocktail (jk), but on your Best Of The Dolls playlist, and listen/vote along as we rank all (well, like most) of the Drag Race Group Songs Seasons 1 - 16!
