But Christians, if I we were going to be honest before God this morning

• If we are going to be honest with ourselves this morning
• Even though we have heard all of this truth
• Even though we agree with it in our heads and in our hearts

How many of us truly live as free? 
How many of us still live bound up as captives, as slaves to something?
How many of us feel like our lives lack what Paul is teaching we have be given in Christ?

So grace, faith and freedom are what we are going to talk about this morning

• How Jesus has manifested the reality of all of these things in our lives
• How we are cling to God’s grace
• Hope always by faith in Jesus
• And stand fast in the freedom by which Christ has made us free

Paul says Jesus set us free

• We didn’t free ourselves
• We didn’t in our own strength break through the chains of opposition
• We didn’t in our own strength overcome the enemy

This wasn’t our idea

• This is the will of God
• This is the work of God through Jesus
• This is what Jesus has done on our behalf
• But Christians, it has been done, it is finished!

Paul says Jesus set us free

• We didn’t free ourselves
• We didn’t in our own strength break through the chains of opposition
• We didn’t in our own strength overcome the enemy

Christians, it is time to grow up!

• Growing up includes walking in the freedom we have in Christ
• Not shackling ourselves back up to the law
• Not putting ourselves under a tutor again as these in Galatia are desiring to do
• Not living our lives as slaves to sin any longer

It is walking by faith - it is trusting Jesus to finish the work that He has started in us

Christians, it is time to grow up!

The mystery of the Gospel

• It is not in the works of our hands  
• It is not in the works of our flesh
• It is not in a keeping of an external law
• Whether that be the perfect law of God as spoken through Moses
• Or any other law

The secret, the mystery is not in a work of our hands...

• It is in the perfect work and the nail pierced hands of our Lord Jesus!
