Hyperfixation: A Queer Fandom Podcast

The Briikasak gang returns to its origins, The Mandalorian. Cork talks about his theories on this season. Marika is very committed to the show replacing Cara's role. How will the season be without Grogu's safety being a main plot driver? What does being a Mandalorian mean? Is the Armorer, Bo-Katan, or both the big bad?

Confused by what going on in all the new Mandalorian trailers? Don't know how Grogu returned? Fully understandable since most of season two's conflict was resolved in the silly Boba Fett show. The Briikasak gang recaps the important Mandalorian story lines from Book of Boba Fett so everyone can be caught up before season three starts.

The Briikasak gang had a casual chat about Pedro being a dad in the apocalypse and turned it into the first The Last of Us bonus episode. We talk about episodes 1-4, with an unsurprising focus on the gay content, which includes Melanie  Lynskey. SPOLIER ALERT for these episodes and The Last of Us 1 and 2 games.

The gang does a quick recap of the Prison Arc episodes, go on some tangents, and discuss everything we liked about the Cork's favorite arc. Everyone is in a prison, Cork explains the difference between Rebels and Separatists to Marika as Bret gets drank on hard Monster.

The Briikasak chats about the second arc of Andor on Aldhani. There are subtle lesbians, there is a rebellion manifest, there is a possible clone Leia. We get rather sad and real about how much this show relates to current American society. We are sorry on so many levels.

It's the Andor finale and Ferrix says f*ck the police. Bret loves everything about this episode. Marika explains her feelings about Vel and Cinta. Cork has a theory about who Cassian put on that ship and wants everyone to kiss.

It's finally here! The Briikasak gang finishes Aftermath. We rejoin our bad mom, drunk gay uncle, angry aunt, and annoying teen as they storm the palace and nearly die. Does Sinjir pass the Vito Russo test? Is Rae the only competent imperial? Did we take long enough to finish this book?

The Briikasak gang has gotten very into Andor. Cassian is out of prison, Maarva is dead, and every is converging on Ferrix. Cork has some predictions about how it is going to go. Will Bear Friend be radicalized? Will the lesbians end up on different sides?

Cork almost sailed away on the Revenge with Ed and Stede, but the toxicity of the Star Wars fandom brought them and Briikasak back. The gang tries to understand why characters like Reva and Rose are so hated. Has the fandom always been like this? Is it actually worse than other big fandoms?
