Brother Fred Betzold was born in Emmett, Idaho and grew up working on his family’s apple farm. Brother Betzold joined the church at the age of 18 after several years of fellowship from his childhood friends. A year after joining the church he again followed the example of his friends and was called to serve a two year church mission in San Bernardino, California. Following his mission, he attended the University of Utah, graduating in 1995. 

While attending college he married his beautiful wife Amy.  Brother Betzold has lived in Middleton, Idaho for the past 20 years. He has served in many capacities, including Bishop and Stake President. He works for Travere Therapeutics as an immunology specialist. 

When Brother Betzold has free time he enjoys being in the great outdoors of Idaho with his family and friends. Fred and Amy are the parents of three children, and two grandchildren.

President Roger Madison was born in Boise, Idaho.  He attended Meridian High School on a part-time basis, and Centennial High just long enough to get a diploma.  He attended Utah Valley University for a year where he met his wife Alyse, she was attending BYU.   They both graduated from Boise State University and are big Broncos fans. Roger works as a financial advisor in Meridian and Alyse is an incredible Mother.  They enjoy boating in the summer and snowboarding in the winter.  They call Donnelly, Idaho their second home.  They have strong testimonies of the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ and enjoy their current assignments working with the young single adults in the Boise, Idaho area. The Madisons have 4 children, including Zach who passed away in 2015.  They have 3 grandchildren. Roger Madison is currently serving in Boise YSA Stake Presidency.

“We will simply do what is asked of us.”  This has been the motto of Jeff and Tina Erekson since the beginning of their marriage.

Brother Erekson served a church mission in Manchester England.  After he and Tina Thurber married, he was called as a bishop in 1999, a Stake President in 2006, an area Seventy in the Idaho area in 2013.  Then in July of 2022 Jeff and Tina returned home after serving for 3 years as Mission Leaders in the Hamilton, New Zealand Mission.

Jeff Erekson graduated from Boise State university in Finance. He has worked and managed two different financial companies, prior to starting  his own firm, Allegis Financial Partners, which is based in Nampa, Idaho with multiple offices now throughout the Northwestern United States.

Jeff and Tina are the parents of 6 beautiful daughters, 4 son-in-law’s, and 12 grandchildren.

Ron Zabel was born and raised in Kuna, Idaho. Bishop Zobel now serves as a YSA Bishop in the Ontario YSA ward. Married to his wife, Jaymi, for 30 years. He’s blessed the lives of youth and young adults through various callings. Ron manages Little Creek Ranch in Parma, Idaho. He’s admired by all who know him.

President Vern Porter, president of the Boise YSA Stake, shares what he sees in the wonderful young adults he serves.  Together with his wife Cori, they share the blessings that they have seen in their life while serving together in various church leadership positions.  Two of the greatest people! Sister Carleen Tanner, a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a mother of ten children, grandmother of forty and devoted wife to the world’s best papa, Mike.

Through raising her children, lots of personal study and following the guidance of the Holy Ghost, she is a master at raising happy children and building a loving marriage. Sister Tanner has been teaching parenting and marriage classes for over 30 years.

President Lance Millington is the newest member of the Boise YSA Stake Presidency.  In this discussion, he shares how the Lord has guided his life through college, mission, marriage and career.  Professionally, President Millington has 25 years of sales and marketing experience in technology companies.  He has held sales executive, partner management and leadership roles at companies including HP, Oracle and Underwriters Laboratories. In his work at Colliers, he engages with a broad range of companies and individuals, with the primary focus being on finding the right commercial real estate solution to help clients achieve their overall business objectives. President Millinton holds a BA of Marketing from Boise State University and attended the Foster School of Business at University of Washington.

There are times when life doesn’t turn out the way we envisioned.  When that happens, choose to turn to the Savior.  He will always lead you and walk with you down the best path. Jess Anderson shares her story of twists and turns, and how her connection with Christ brought the answers she needed.  Her journey teaches us that when we decide to hand over our lives to the Savior, he will be there and you will have Joy.
