We start Sarah's second cycle talking about the HBO Max series Veneno - as a palette cleanser to the transphobia of the prior episode. We discuss Cristina Ortiz Rodriguez aka "La Veneno" 's impact, why this series is so important and why even though it's primarily a trans focused show, there's still a lot of incredible messages about women's stereotypical roles and how some of the cis characters defy them!

Today we wrap up Kelsi's cycle dissecting Ace Ventura: Pet Detective - and its portrayal of its female characters. It's not good, and we definitely examine the way this '90s classic affected the transgender community with its twist, why it's not a good effect and why Kelsi chose to close her cycle out with this one.

Sarah, Kelsi and Jinger go into Kelsi's potpurri pick which examines the infamous Hardee's ads from the early 2000s - using sex to sell...well...meat. We talk a lot about who these commercials were marketed to - the impracticalities of some of the outfit choices, how the company over-corrected in response to backlash from the commercials and much more!

We begin Kelsi's cycle - and as predicted for the women's and gender studies major, we're taking on a LOT with the season 7 episode "The One With Chandler's Dad" . We look at trans issues in the late 90s/early 2000s, toxic masculinity, female stereotypes and more. This one's a LOT but in a great way - and we didn't even GET to talk about a cis woman playing a trans woman, a rarity in Hollywood!

We talk the lasting legacy of this, what it's like to grow up NOT reading this book, the truly controversial stuff about this book (spoiler: it's NOT the menstruation stuff!), and the stigma of women's health that needs to end.
