Today we feature Deidre Mirand.

Deidre Mirand is an educator devoted to providing lessons in life and literature to today's youth. She has taught English Language Arts and writing for over 17 years. Encouraging young authors, she published a compilation of short stories titled, “Dream World” written by various students. Though Deidre has been a teacher and worked with children for over half of her life, she began questioning her purpose. On a road to self-discovery, she was diagnosed with Mit Translocation Renal Cell Carcinoma, a form of kidney cancer. This propelled her into finding her purpose in providing hope, help and healing to those who doubt their God-given purpose on this earth. Deidre is a Georgia girl with a Caribbean heart, a loving mother of one beautiful soul, a devoted daughter, a sister and a mentor to many. She is a faithful follower of Christ and a true believer in the divinity of life. She is an educator, but the classroom was only the beginning.

Today we feature Rogerio Dos Santos Aires. He was born in Portugal and have lived in Canada since I was 24 years old. In my life, I had trouble connecting with other people, always felt that no one understood me and with the feeling that I didn't belong. Trying to get along with people, I developed this thing, to be a people pleaser so that I could at least make others happy starting with my parents. That only made me feel bitter with life, never feeling that I could do anything good for myself. 

For the past 20 years of my life, going through it with no vision for myself and living in fear, I have been 1 lonely and lost human. After a divorce and another failed relationship soon after, I met a fantastic human who opened up my world in the realm of Self-development, always encouraging me and motivating me. 

Through that journey, I found myself in a Human Design Introduction and my life has forever transformed. I dove into Human Design and marinated myself with articles, books, youtube videos, found my Teachers and deep dived into this New World like my life depended on it. What this new discovery transformed first was my understanding of myself, the humans in my life and that was a game changer. I went from crippling doubt, fear of everything and no purpose in life to a new Me. 

Today I use that knowledge to create a world of possibilities for myself. With the Human Design System we identify our genetic coding that has been imprinted onto us and use it as a map, from there we can tap into our fullest potential as a human being experiencing LIFE.

 Kelli Melissa Hansen has a bachelors in Communication and a minor in Psychology. She has always been interested in how the brain works and why people do what they do. After losing her middle sister Carrie to a completed suicide, Kelli founded BCC Evolution, a mental health and suicide awareness nonprofit. Her passion is to empower people to break their silence about their mental health challenge so that it does not rule their life. Doing this through education, awareness, opening the conversation and giving resources.

Today we feature Jo Ann Gramlich. She is an award-winning author and speech-language pathologist who provides evaluation and remediation services for children with communication disorders in early intervention and preschool programs at Pediatric Educational and Diagnostic Services-ECMC, Buffalo, New York. She has worked for the Buffalo Public School District of Western New York where she provided speech-language therapy for elementary and middle school-aged children. She holds a Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the State University of New York College at Buffalo.

She is a member of the American Speech–Language–Hearing Association. She presented a Parent Involvement Research Paper on Involving Parents in School Programs at the ASHA Annual Convention in Boston, Massachusetts. She also is a founding faculty member of the International Academy of Universal Self Mastery (IAUSM, 2020). 

Jo Ann is the author of Talk, Play, And Read With Me Mommy: Interactive Activities to Enhance Your Child’s Language Development From Birth to Age Five, (Authorhouse, May 27, 2014). This book provides parents, caregivers, or anyone who interacts with little ones creative activities and games to help enhance or strengthen children’s language skills during the early years. This book Talk, Play, And Read With Me Mommy received a 2018 NABE Pinnacle Book Achievement Award in the Category of Best Book in Parenting and Family from the National Association of Book Entrepreneurs.

She also published Talk, Play, And Read With Me Mommy Interactive eBook: Interactive Activities to Enhance Your Child’s Language Development From Birth to Age Five, (Jo Ann Gramlich, May 11, 2019). This eBook includes interactive games filled with colorful animation, sound effects, and audio recordings that will make a child’s learning experience enjoyable and fun. 

Her other book is titled Talk, Play, And Read With Me Daddy: Interactive Activities to Enhance Your Child’s Language Development From Birth to Age Five, (Authorhouse, July 16, 2020). This book features an extra chapter of bonus activities for Daddy and his infant, toddler, or preschooler. The Mommy and Daddy book can be used simultaneously by moms, dads, or caregivers when interacting with their little one. These books can also be used individually by anyone who engages with children as they offer activities and games that are ideal for providing excellent opportunities that help encourage a child to talk and develop speech and language skills while having fun.

Her books were inspired by her personal interest and passion for helping young children and watching them learn and achieve. She believes every child has a voice that should be heard and it all begins by empowering a child to tap into their imaginations and skillful mind. She feels her philosophy of making learning fun will bring out the best in children and help them explore their own creative abilities. 

In addition, Jo Ann presents and speaks at both parent and parent educator trainings, group workshops, organizational and community events, and state conferences. This allows her the opportunity to connect with parents, caregivers, educators, and professionals from various agencies to help bring awareness of the importance of early intervention and language development for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
