Roxy Striar & Coy Jandreau dive into the iconic 1998 teen horror/slasher I Know What You Did Last Summer, the chilling adaptation of Lois Duncan’s novel that helped define a generation of late '90s horror. Directed by Jim Gillespie and written by Kevin Williamson (Scream, Dawson’s Creek), the film follows four high school friends whose dark secret comes back to haunt them one year after a hit-and-run accident.

Jennifer Love Hewitt (Party of Five, Ghost Whisperer) stars as Julie James, the guilt-ridden protagonist trying to unravel the mystery. Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Cruel Intentions) plays Helen Shivers, a beauty queen with a tragic arc. Freddie Prinze Jr. (She’s All That, Scooby-Doo) brings heart to the role of Ray Bronson, while Ryan Phillippe (Cruel Intentions, Shooter) is the hot-headed Barry Cox. The cast also features Johnny Galecki (The Big Bang Theory, Roseanne) as Max and Muse Watson (NCIS, Prison Break) as the ominous Ben Willis—the mysterious fisherman with a hook for a hand.

From its eerie coastal setting to its unforgettable chase scenes—especially Helen’s iconic alleyway sequence—the film is packed with suspenseful, highly searched moments. The infamous “What are you waiting for?!” scream, the brutal hook attacks, and the final twist ending still resonate with fans today. Roxy & Coy revisit all the blood, thrills, and jump scares, unpacking the movie’s legacy in the teen slasher canon and its impact on horror pop culture.
