Recently, the summer issue of American frontiersman magazine came out and it is all focusing on muzzleloading and early American fire arms. This is some great exposure for the muzzleloading community. Mike Beliveau has a great article in this magazine about smooth bore accuracy, so be sure to check this out.

The Bryan station muzzleloaders club at Wilmore, Kentucky has added two more table shoots to their match structure for the year, they'll be hosting the first on July 25 and the second on November 28

This past June was the national 4H shooting sports competition, competitors from all over the country traveled into Nebraska to compete in a variety of shooting sports all offered by the 4H program.

One shooter was recognized by Schuetzen powder as one of their kind of sponsored or supported, shooters. Schuetzen and Swiss black powder wanted to congratulate their local forage champion Julia Davis and the Texas team.

For this summer, the Wolf Creek Cap Snappers are going to be hosting a summer muzzling match on August 22, 2021 in Chester Hill Ohio.

If you're in Tennessee and looking to test the metal with your modern long range inline muzzleloading, I really encourage you to check out the Tennessee Inline Championship on August 20 and 21. This match is very structured, relying on the NRA classification guidelines, but this is good, it keeps you in competition with similarly skilled shooters. This is a great match that grows every year, now is the time to get in and have some fun.

The Chattanooga Conservancy has discovered a swamped, dugout canoe in the Chattanooga river. In coordination with the South Carolina institute of archaeology and anthropology, and the forest service, a team worked together to bring the canoe out from the river and into a cradle where the canoe can safely be removed from the river and preserved.

On July 10th and 11th, Bergara launched their first Bergara experience event in a little over two years. I'm really hoping to see out of this is some more on the Paramount HTR.

Muzzle-Loaders.com shared in a new video series about the Accura LRX and MRX, sharing they are expecting their first shipment in August, 2021

Hi, I'm Ethan and I love muzzleloading. Today we're talking with Paul from The Orion Foundation Instagram page. Paul has been a true inspiration for me and several of the other young muzzleloading enthusiasts in the contemporary era. What Paul's doing is really unique and really special for the muzzleloading community. He serves a a great service to the community at large, bringing people in and showing them that you don't have to focus in on one aspect of muzzleloading to enjoy it. Paul's going to talk a lot about how he works at getting his kids and their friends interested in muzzleloading and the outdoors.

What Paul has to say is really important and he's doing is something that we should all take to heart and try to learn from so that we can all pass the torch of muzzleloading onto the next generation.

  • A conversation with Frank House | I Love Muzzleloading
    Learn more at ilovemuzzleloading.com
Frank House is an internationally known contemporary longrifle master but he doesn't let that go to his head. In the old locksmith's house in Woodbury Kentucky you'll find Frank and Lally House working in their studios just about everyday of the week and if they aren't, Lally will be in the flowerbeds and Frank will be in the garage working on an old car.
As a young boy, Frank hated school, but he did like making things with his hands. From a young age, he was in the shop making all manner of things sharp and pointy. He went on to welding school and later became a first-class boilermaker. In the 1980s, work was slow, Frank finally had time to begin working in his own shop. After a trip to Sears Frank came home with a bandsaw and got to work.
When the boiler markers called him back to work he said, "Go to hell" and has been building longrifles ever since.

  • Blackhorn 209 Updates, NBC casts Muzzle loaders in a negative light, Caps IN STOCK and more | Muzzleloading News
Learn more at ilovemuzzleloading.com  Hodgdon estimates 2-8 Weeks for Blackhorn 209 delivery to stores, this is similar to the information released in February, about March/April delivery. Hopefully, we see Blackhorn 209 on shelves soon. With the  competition season picking up, shooters are looking for powder. Those  who have ordered/preordered new rifles for 2021 are concerned they have paperweights, with some online looking for information on shooting other substitutes until the shortage ends.   NRA Camp needs caps for their summer kids' camp!   Manufacturers can't help due to the market volatility, they are asking volunteers to part with some caps to help kids over the summer.   The NMLRA will be collecting caps for any donors during the Spring  National Shoot. Anyone with extras is encouraged to bring some extras to  send to the kids. By collecting caps from many into one shipment, the  hazmat fees will be limited.   Related to Caps, last week muzzle-loaders.com received a shipment of  #11 and #10 caps, as of recording, all but the Schuetzen Musket caps are sold out. Subscribe to their email newsletter to be notified of the  next shipment.   On Thursday this week, Grafs and Sons was restocked in Winchester magnum  #11 caps. They also have RWS and Schuetezen caps in stock.   Hopefully this is indicative of the shortages we’ve seen in the last 18  months coming. To a close Muzzle-loaders.com is hosting a giveaway for father's day!   In preparation for Father's Day, we are giving away a Traditions Pursuit  VAPR XT!!! Comment, share, and fill out the entry form below for your chance to win!  The winner will be selected on June 9th and the rifle will arrive at your door before Father's Day! You'll get $5 off your registration fee AND you won't have to wait in line before the shoot. Visit [NMLRA.org] for more information. If you are planning to shoot a lot, give the office a call and ask them to organize your targets before the shoot. You can pick up your packet of targets with your shooter badge and be off the races in no time.  NBC Article - On May 23, 2021 NBC News published an article that feels like a targeted hit piece aimed at muzzleloading enthusiasts around the United States. The article focuses on a crime that was committed with a blackpowder muzzleloading cap and ball revolver, we certainly agree the crime was horrible and any loss of life is upsetting, but the article attempts to  demonize muzzleloaders in a way that we aren't familiar with. Pro-Gun control rhetoric has been saved for modern firearms for years, but I  fear this marks the first foray into including muzzleloaders in the fight.   Maybe I'm overly concerned, but I think the article is important for us to read and understand where the conversation about muzzleloaders could be going, so we may be properly prepared to preserve our passion for muzzleloading.

  • Is Thompson Center done? Schuetzen brings in 2 million caps, and Georgia legalizes the Paramount HTR | Muzzleloading News
Read more today at ilovemuzzleloading.comMay has just started and we already have big news for muzzleloading enthusiasts. Some unexpected news broke this week via the Outdoor Wire, Smith & Wesson has announced they will be divesting the Thompson/Center Arms brand. Sadly, Smith & Wesson haven’t owned Thompson/Center for 20 years, having bought the company in 2006 and many feel S&W never gave the brand a chance, citing limited releases and support for their once best-selling muzzleloading rifles and the customers who shoot them. It’s a sad day to see such an iconic brand being discarded by Smith and Wesson. With interest in muzzleloaders still climbing, they are losing out on a real opportunity.Hopefully, someone else will see the opportunity at hand and invest in Thompson/Center Arms, giving muzzleloading enthusiasts more choice in their next muzzleloader.Georgia House Bill 362 was signed into law on May 1, 2021, surrounded by a CVA Hat and the new Paramount HTR. Being their home state, perhaps CVA, and their parent company, BPI Outdoors had a hand in this new bill. Previously, the caliber limit was .44 caliber. This is a large change, taking the caliber size well below the needed .40 caliber to allow for the new CVA Paramount HTR and Knight Peregrine. It’s an exciting time to be in the muzzleloading industry. Innovation keeps coming and it looks like some states want to keep sportsmen happy!Cap and ball shooters can rejoice! Schuetzen Black Powder just received 2 MILLION RWS caps today. Soon they will be on their way to distributors here in the states shortly. With shortages looking like they could continue through the better half of 2021, this is welcome news.“2 million RWS 1075s and 1075+ percussion caps shipping out to our distributors.  Can’t shoot black powder without percussion caps.” — Schuetzen Black Powder Join the NMLRA todaySources-Thompson Center Devested by Smith and Wesson - https://www.ilovemuzzleloading.com/blog/smith-wesson-brands-inc-announces-intent-to-sell-thompsoncenter-brandSchuetzen RWS Caps - https://www.ilovemuzzleloading.com/blog/schuetzen-blackpowder-shipping-2-million-rws-capsGA Hunting Law- https://www.ilovemuzzleloading.com/blog/georgia-governor-brian-kemp-legalizes-hunting-with-a-40-caliber-muzzleloader
