The City of Shreveport residents will soon have the opportunity to vote on a proposal to invest millions of dollars in capital infrastructure projects. If approved by voters, the bond measure will authorize spending $256 million on various infrastructure projects, including streets, water and sewerage.

Each Friday in March Mayor Arceneaux will share his “Friday Inspiration” which highlights the contributions of women.

Today's inspiration is Kimberly Papillon. Kimberly Papillon is a nationally recognized expert on the subject of decision-making in law, education, business and medicine. She has served as a member of the faculty at the National Judicial College since 2005. She has delivered over 400 lectures nationally and internationally on the implications of neuroscience, psychology and implicit association in the analysis of decision-making. She has lectured to medical students and medical school faculty, as well as physicians nationwide and in Australia on the neuroscience of decision-making in differential diagnosis and treatment. She has lectured to corporations including to Netflix, Google, Walmart, Clorox and Kaiser Hospitals nationwide and provided a TedTalk.

Today's inspiration is Mimi Hussey, wife of former Mayor John Hussey.Mimi was the first woman President of Holiday-In-Dixie and the Ark-La-Tex Ambassadors; President of Crime Stoppers, Shreveport; Mothers Against Drugs, Shreveport Jewish Federation, and the Council of Jewish Women. She served on the boards of the Shreveport Symphony, Live Oak Retirement Center, Shreveport Junior League, B'Nai Zion Sisterhood, Northwest Louisiana Red Cross, the Literacy Council, and the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum, just to name a few.
