Zhen Smalls, is a filmmaker based in Santa Barbara and Los Angeles County. Zhen is one of the most creative person I know so look out for him name on the big screen one day.

I had the pleasure to talk to him before he started his first year at CSU Long Beach.

It doesn’t matter if you don’t understand what he’s talking about, chances are he’ll make you laugh or at the very least, smile.

Our friendship has been going on for almost 2 decades now and it isn’t one you have to continually work to keep it going. It’s natural, I can go months without hearing from him and it’s right back to the way it’s always been but, to be honest, we never go a couple of weeks without picking up the phone for one of our hour-long chats.

This is the first you’ll hear of Aaron Avalos in the podcast but it will for sure not be the last, stick around to hear the Aaron Avalos story as he walks me through his last 22 years.
