Alex from The Big Smoke joins Rach, Jacq and Dene to talk about new hi-tech glasses that could help with law enforcement, but at what cost to our privacy?

Are facial recognition glasses next on the wish list for Aussie police?

Hi-tech ‘smart glasses’ use facial recognition technology to identify people. They are being used despite backlash, and are already popular in China.

The Australian Federal Government has passed legislation requiring states and territories to hand over drivers licence photos in order to create a citizen database.

So how would ’facial recognition smart glass’ technology actually work? Alex explains how this technology is being used internationally. She also unpacks what it could mean for Australians.
