Welcome to Episode Fourteen, Part Two!

Today we are continuing Chris Watts, the family annihilator who killed his wife, unborn son, and two daughters after beginning a torrid love affair with a co-worker.   

The poison in this episode is a Nonino Spritz.... still staying in line with the Grimoni from the last episode.

If you want to drink with me, you will need sparkling white wine or prosecco, lemon juice, and Amaro Nonnino, an Italian amaro with notes of vanilla, orange, spices, and honey.

The recipe for the Nonino Spritz is as follows:

• 1-part Sparkling wine or prosecco
• 2-part Amaro Nonnino
• A splash of lemon juice

Pour prosecco, lemon juice, and Nonnino over ice in a white wine glass and stir.

Welcome to Episode Fourteen!

It feels good to be back! I took some time off to celebrate my birthday month, and now I'm back on the pod to talk about some more psychos. So let's go!

Today we are talking about Chris Watts, the family annihilator who killed his wife, unborn son, and two daughters after beginning a torrid love affair with a co-worker.   

The poison in this episode is a Grimoni.... so named after my co-worker and friend, Kevin Grimon, who also curated this beautiful cocktail. Get it? "Grimoni"! 

If you want to drink with me, you will need gin, blanc vermouth, and Amaro Nonnino, an Italian amaro with notes of vanilla, orange, spices, and honey.

The recipe for the Grimoni is as follows:

• 1-ounce gin
• 1-ounce blanc vermouth
• 1-ounce Amaro Nonnino
• Garnish with orange zest

Pour gin, blanc vermouth, and Nonnino over ice in a cocktail glass and stir.

Optional: Garnish the glass with orange zest.

Welcome to Episode Thirteen!

This is a two-parter!

Today we are talking about Laurie Dann, the Schoolhouse Killer.  A Winneka, IL woman who, in 1988, went on a shooting spree, killing one eight-year-old student, Nick Corwin, and shooting others. 

The poison in this episode is a Lemon Lavender Gin Rickey....if you want to drink with me.  You will need gin, lemon juice, honey, seltzer water, and lavender.

Recipe from  https://food52.com/recipes/35816-lemon-lavender-gin-rickey 

• 3 ounces gin
• 4 ounces of freshly squeezed lemon juice
• 2 tablespoons honey
• 4 ounces seltzer water
• 2 sprigs lavender
• 2 wedges of lemon

Pour gin, lemon juice, and honey over ice in a cocktail shaker and shake well.
Strain into two glasses filled with ice and top with seltzer.  Optional: Garnish the glass with a sprig of lavender and a slice of lemon, and voila!

Welcome to Episode Twelve!

Today we are talking about The Book of Enoch, an ancient text found in Ethiopia and tossed from the traditional canonized religious text; the book was written by Enoch, the great-grandfather of Noah. Enoch's writings are considered the oldest account of extraterrestrial abduction pre-dating the flood.   

The poison in this episode is an Absinthe Celestial Tea....if you want to drink.  You will need absinthe, honey, cranberry juice, lemon juice, and a cinnamon stick.  Pour the absinthe into the coffee mug.  Add the cranberry juice and fill the mug up most of the rest of the way with hot water. Add lemon juice and honey to taste.  Break the cinnamon stick in half and leave it in the mug to soak as you drink it, and voila!

Welcome to Episode Eleven!

Today we are talking about Lloyd Avery II, a budding actor who took his role in John Singleton's 1991 classic "Boyz N the Hood" a little too far.  This is a true tale of life imitating art!

The poison in this episode is Strawberry Old Fashioned....if you want to drink.  You will need strawberry puree or fresh strawberries to muddle, whiskey, and simple syrup.  Add some water, and voila!

Welcome to Episode Ten!

Today we are talking about the Grim Sleeper, who committed many rapes and at least 10 murders for over 25 years in South Central LA. He was given the name Grim Sleeper because, from 1988-2002, the killer was dormant. Finally, in 2010, he was finally arrested for his crimes. 

The poison in this episode is The Green Beast....if you want to drink.  You will need cucumber, simple syrup, absinthe, lime juice, and water.  Muddle your cucumbers and simple syrup in a glass, add the absinthe, lime juice, ice, and top with chilled water.
