    Send us Fan Mail

What if a dog's loyalty could echo through the ages, leaving an indelible mark on history? Join us on a heartwarming excursion with Owen McMichael, fondly known as "the Mick," as we celebrate the timeless bond between a man and his devoted Sky Terrier. Travel back to 19th-century Edinburgh to meet Greyfriars Bobby, whose steadfast watch over his master's grave won the hearts of an entire city. This touching tale not only illuminates the emotional connection between humans and dogs but also offers a delightful peek into the quirks of Scottish culture, including their renowned love for fried foods.

But our conversation doesn't stop there. We dive into the broader topic of canine companionship, particularly the terrier breed's unwavering devotion. By sharing personal stories of our own furry friends, we explore the serendipitous nature of certain relationships, be they with pets or people. As we wrap up, we add a sprinkle of humor with a playful look at UK accents, examining the charming yet sometimes baffling Scottish and Irish dialects. With the festive season upon us, we extend our heartfelt holiday wishes, expressing gratitude to our listeners for their continued support.

  • Landrace: Cannabis's Pure Roots

    Send us Fan Mail

Ever wondered how cannabis strains like Brazilian and Chocolate Thai maintain their genetic purity despite the modern surge of hybrids? Join us as we embark on a captivating exploration of landrace strains, tracing their roots from the rugged mountains of the Hindu Kush to the sun-drenched shores of Acapulco Gold. Through personal stories of unforgettable adventures inspired by these rare strains, we illuminate the historical significance and allure of cannabis that has stood the test of time.

Picture pirates navigating treacherous seas—many of whom couldn't swim—and discover intriguing parallels between their storied lives and the world of cannabis strains like Durban Poison and Colombian Gold. Our conversation takes a turn towards the cultural evolution and historical baggage of terms like "marijuana," with a candid reflection on how societal views on cannabis and its comparison with alcohol have transformed. Personal anecdotes about past drug use serve as a backdrop for the importance of honest dialogue, especially when addressing misconceptions surrounding cannabis.

As the episode unfolds, we spotlight the therapeutic potential of cannabis, particularly for those grappling with PTSD, and the rise of CBD as a non-psychoactive option. We also don't shy away from addressing the challenges in the cannabis industry, including high taxation and outdated laws, particularly those in Idaho. Through humor and sincerity, we confront racial biases while keeping the conversation light-hearted, speculating on whether our podcast is more popular in Serbia than in Idaho. Join our journey and share your thoughts on this evolving landscape as we weave positive vibes into our narrative.

  • Vampires: Zosia

    Send us Fan Mail

Ever wondered what happens when the past refuses to stay buried? Join us for a spine-tingling journey as we unravel the mystery of Zosia, a 350-year-old alleged vampire found in Poland. With a sickle around her neck and a padlock on her toe, her burial details read like the script of a horror movie—but was it more than just superstition? We explore the cultural fears that might have sparked such a dramatic entombment, delve into her possible Scandinavian roots, and ponder if her dental quirks or mental state played a role in her chilling fate. Plus, thanks to modern technology, you’ll get to "meet" Zosia face-to-face as we reveal her reconstructed appearance in a way that blends the eerie with the educational.

But that's not all the spooky surprises we have in store! Shift into a lighter gear with us as we explore the world of vampire bats, those winged creatures from the Americas that can surprisingly sprint across land. A fun fact for your Halloween trivia arsenal, these bats add an extra layer of mystique to the season. Don't forget to catch videos of these little runners, guaranteed to leave you both entertained and a bit unsettled. As we wrap up, we send our best wishes for a Halloween filled with love, laughter, and just the right amount of fright.
