Sampled ACB drums from a TR-6s drum machine and melodics and basses sampled from the system-1. Chain: sys-1 > MPC > sp-404 > mixer.

Maybe over-dank'ed the master coming out of the MPC with Flavor Pro (really, really bad name-but great fx bus).

A little electro, some old school, sounds like a cassette. Que mas?

More MPC. Used F9 Audio's Neptune pack. Just the drums. Sounds great. Vocal chops probs a bit too MPCish for me. The Odyssey sounds great in this thing too. Anyway, thanks to jamuary for the forced deep dive. Having a lot of fun, and using the (questionably named) #mpcbible . Worth every bit of the $40.00. Really fills in the gaps.

Did an MPC instrumental version of one of my unreleased songwriter-y songs. Like this better than the original! Used the MPC epaino and Mellotron. Both sound great. Not sure about those drum samples.

A pressed-for-time / why-did-I-pick-right-now-to-copy-sd-cards jam with the MPC w/ OP-1F on top.

This seems to be my combo of jamuary '23. I am fast on the op-1F, and I am getting better on the MPC. Anyhoo, all thanks to the group etc. A little bit of accountability really goes a long way.

An op-1 field-only jam. C blues progression with a space feel. The Finger drum sequencer is one of my favorite ever. So many combinations, and you can never ever remember what button you pressed before, so it's always changing on you. Makes for some good randomness. At the end of the, hate it if you must, the op1f sounds truly amazing. And I took it on a week vacation and never charged it. I mean, come on!

A bit of a corny one that started life as a pattern on the MPC500. Then to Ableton for 2 basses. Then--obviously, to the sp-404 for the funk (and just okay arp from op-1 field).

Trying to make the MPC not sound like the MPC (and getting there).

Started with a sample of an earlier Jamuary song. Pitched it way down w/ the 404 and then deleted a bunch of previous stock samples in the demo project to make some room. Used random bits of what was left for drums. Added bass and some keys.

This one I will come back to. Needs a break or 2 and--you know, bring this in, bring this out kind-of things. It's all present and counted for. Really happy with the feel. And that's all I really care about, if I was forced to choose 1 thing.
