Took me forever, but all of this was done on the MPC (including sampling the 12 into it). What felt a lot like artistic resistance was really just work on another alternate workflow. Would have taken me way less time in Ableton or with the SP-404. Hardest part is getting my kind of sounds, and this ended up a little dank, even for me.

More early morning Koala-ing. Some seeds are tougher than others, but I got a bit of something. Persistence! This is a good dj transition or maybe a base for something else (that will never happen). More like a 2nd-side-of-the-record intermission of sorts between actual songs. Oh dirty sample too.

Besides layer'ed bass, it's a kind-of preset thing with suitable arp for melody. Probably could go adding crap, in 100 different directions. But maybe keep it like it is. One of those things I will know listening back in a few days from now.

Best thing about op-1 to op-1 field is the sound upgrade. No stress. Just drop the mixed track into DAW for light and lazy mastering + same w/ a couple effects = done. Sounds great by me.

Like like how things should be at this, my high-functioning amateur level.

Grabbed a short #YouTube sample from the seeburg #elevatormusic library, pitched it down, and sampled it onto the vintage 4 track tape mode of the #op1field

Played drums in live (no quant)after getting the sample tucked in (enough).

I'd use this for a groove maybe with a live guitarist, put it into the #sp404 and play along with the #system1 , or use it as a transition in a dj set.

Quick-work, almost panicked sampling every day for #jamuary23 with different samplers means a deeper understanding of everything I typically use on a daily basis. Part of the brilliance of making every day work everyday.

Learning the #mpc500 back to front has informed chopping on the op1f and sp404 etc.

mpc500 beat to 404 + system-1 and guitar. It's the most '404' thing I've done in a long time. Very happy with the sh*t sound of it too. What I was going for. For once.

Coming up with something on the sp404 this am, I found the Galaxian patch on VHS Synth. Patches like this get me every time. Pitched down until I got the timing right, pharted around, and came up with what you hear. Tried to record it + system-1 with the tx-6 and had levels way off, but have a show to go see tonight. So this is it. *I could make whole records with his set-up (and maybe the op1f too).
