In this episode, Marieme Jamme speaks to 13 year old iamtheCODE Country Ambassador for South Africa, Paetyn Naidoo. Living in Johannesburg, Paetyn, shares insights on how the Covid-19 lockdown has impacted young people and the importance of leadership, courage, unity and creativity across all communities over this time. She shares that despite the challenges, the crisis has vividly highlighted to all across the globe that access to the internet should be declared a human right for all by the United Nations, especially given its impact to unlock opportunities for the youth. Marieme and Paetyn discuss how they first met in South Africa last year when Paetyn worked as Country Ambassador to help organize iamtheCODE’s first hackathon in South Africa that had the UN Global Goals as its main theme, bringing over 100 young girls from across Johannesburg together.
