  • 139: The Reset Rebel: My story of the toxic world of Journalism in London
When I was about 6 I knew exactly what i wanted to be.
The next Kate Adie.  A war journalist and foreign correspondent.

There was no doubt about it and that never changed for the first 20 years of my life, until I started actually working as a journalist in London.

Then i started to see that it was hard being in a newsroom in a toxic environment of stress, deadlines, fear, pressure and a lot of men telling me what to do.

In fact, I had some pretty traumatising experiences along the way from CNN to Virgin radio and more than a few tricky moments at the BBC, but I have never really spoken about what it was really like. I have never felt like I could.

So in todays WOM take over episode, my friend Harry Charles, has got the reigns and is asking the questions and together we unpick the 15 years i spent working at various radio station and news rooms around the city.

For me this felt like a good way to unleash some stories I have never spoken of and walk my walk before we commence our Womens Voice Activation Retreat 28-30th October.

If todays conversation makes you think there a few things you would like to change about the way you communicate and feel heard, then drop me an email, our early bird ticket is still up for grabs at 299 Euros for the event in Ibiza in 3 weeks time, to [email protected].

Thank You for listening to my story.

Busted in 1988 by the American Drug Enforcement Agency and sentenced to twenty-five years at America's toughest federal penitentiary, Terre Haute, in Indiana. He was released on parole in 1995 after serving seven years.
In todays Reset Moment when Jo met him before he sadly left us,  he explained how yoga helped him through those years behind bars and provided a platform for him to connect with those in jail, on death row.

  • 133: The Reset Rebel meets Dutch Cranio Sacral therapist and Wedding Celebrant Anna Janssen
"Direction Sunshine" is the road dutch hippy, Anna Janssen and her boyfriend at the time took in 1974 when they hit the road - leaving Amsterdam behind forever.

They ended up in Ibiza and Anna, apart from some travels and spells away, never ever left again.  She says ibiza has a special something she can´t quite put her finger on, but has a feeling every time she lands back, that she finds nowhere else in the world and she has travelled a lot.

She now lives in Santa Eulalia, but started out running a business on Cala Llenya teaching people to windsurf at a time when the water sport was just kicking off on the island.

She now works as a wedding celebrant and Cranio Sacral therapist and gives us some good stories on life in the seventies, when tourism was just starting, on what was then a very poor island that needed the influx of the people who came to put their flag in the sand here from abroad.
