ICE BREAKERS

On this episode of Ice Breakers, Nick Moldenhauer and I start off by talking about the iconic "Unwritten "video that went viral last season after Michigan secured a spot in the Frozen Four. Nick also shares his experience at the 2022 NHL Draft when he was selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs, a funny prank he and his roommates pulled on Josh Orrico, and where he gets his sense of style.

On this episode of Ice Breakers, TJ Hughes and I recap the weekend of 11/23/2024, where the team swept Penn State University. This weekend marked a major milestone in TJ's career as he scored four goals in a single game, including his first hat trick at the University of Michigan! TJ also shares some of his favorite childhood memories, what it was like growing up in Canada, how he prepares for games, and the significance behind the number 13.

On this episode of Ice Breakers, I sit down with Philippe Lapointe to look back on his five years playing hockey for the University of Michigan. Phil shares some of his favorite team memories, how he’s grown as a player and leader, and how the Go Team Impact program has left a lasting impression on the team. Off the ice, he opens up about his long-distance relationship of nearly seven years and what it takes to make it work. Plus, he reveals his secret to cooking the best steak and what makes him the perfect movie buddy.

The debut episode of Ice Breakers features Jacob Truscott, who's been captain of the University of Michigan ice hockey team for the last two years. Jacob opens up about his hockey experiences at Michigan, the highs and lows of team leadership, and some personal stories from his time with the team over the last 5 years. Tune in to get a real feel of life on and off the ice.
