  • Ep #19 - Employee engagement gap

Bev Attfield is the director of tactical marketing for Jostle, a software company focused on connecting employees through a different type of intranet. Recently, Jostle published an interesting white paper and ebook on the Employee Engagement Gap. What they found is that executives and employees have differing view on the status of engagement, creating a gap.

In this episode of ICology, Bev talks about the researching and findings from this report they worked with Brian Solis on. It's a new way of looking at employee engagement for those who are tired of seeing the same statistics over and over.

Nick Howard is the executive director of Edelman Employee Engagement. Every year, Edelman publishes its Trust Barometer, a global study asking respondents how much they trust the four institutions of government, business, nongovernmental organizations and media to do what is right.

In this episode of ICology, I discuss with Nick about the new trends they are seeing in 2016, but also the impact it has on internal communications. While the Trust Barometer is not a communication study per se, there is a lot for communicators to pick up on.

  • Ep #15 - Make your meetings more engaging

Kristin Hancock is the Manager of Communications for the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba. She also serves on the Program Advisory Board for the IABC World Conference. There are a lot of communication managers out there but few that are true leaders. Kristin is one of these leaders.

In this episode, hear how Kristin conducts her weekly staff meetings to improve the employee experience. And the lessons learned are ones that any manager can use to enhance staff meetings that might have become boring and dry. Maybe it's not the staff meetings are boring but the content or the person leading them. Kristin discusses this and her unique approach.
