While we do talk about covid and its impact on PNB and development, we spend some time talking about the impact that the pandemic has had and will continue to have on those getting ready to enter the workforce. With more importance being given to having remote-friendly workspaces, what does that mean for the arts and negotiating those terms of hire? In the last episode of season 1, I talk with Lisa Shames and Fran Jeens of the Jewish Museum London. Lisa, Fran, and the entire museum team have been doing some incredibly innovative work during the time of quarantine in England, and I was so excited to catch up with them to learn how they're adapting to "the new normal." The Jewish Museum is located in Camden Town on the north side of London and features an extensive collection of Jewish culture and heritage artifacts. Before lockdown, they offered school tours to thousands of students each year from across London and a number of community events such as neighborhood walks and family days, and they have gone to great lengths to stay connected to their community and audience.

This week I talk with Tyler Murphy, Gifts Officer for the Fort Worth Symphony in Fort Worth, Texas. Tyler and I have been friends for a long time, going all the way back to our days with the Houston Symphony, and I was really excited to talk to him about his new job, new city, and our new normal.

It's fitting that Steve is my first guest because he was also my first boss when I went to work for the Houston Symphony after graduating from college. We talked about the challenges of performing live music at high altitudes, moving across the country during a pandemic, and how the USUO is adapting to "the new normal" of life during Covid-19.
