On February 22, 2023 the board of trustees for North Idaho College met for their monthly board meeting. In case you haven’t heard, NIC is on notice of losing accreditation. In today’s episode I will share comments from one side of this argument.
Why only present one-side of this argument? Because the negative side of the coin is well represented in the local newspaper. The positive side of the topic is being hidden. It is my argument that the show cause letter is due in large part to the behavior of the local press and efforts of local political activists.

African Americans, like Native Americans, are the only ethnic and cultural groups that did not come to British North America or the United States of America in eager pursuit of the American Dream. Is it coincidental that these are the only two such groups that do not follow the typical pattern of generational immigrant assimilation into the mainstream of American society? Given all of this, what can save people so mightily plagued by persistent poverty?

Generations of youth have been made brittle and desperately intolerant by too much coddling. Adult mediocrities masking as child development experts have removed authentic challenges from our schools. Young people need challenges in order to grow! We should restore them, so that young people develop the habit of accepting life's challenge!
