Like Showing them who you are, encouraging them should also be a start to finish piece of the process.  Encouragement is a HUGE part of showing them who you are.  As you have probably figured out, the S.H.I.N.E. process is from a Service Mindset.  We want to help others.  We want to help those who are less fortunate than us.  We want to show them opportunities and how those opportunities open up with learning and a diploma.  So many people do not get the encouragement that they need.  Be sure to be encouraging to anyone you are taking through this process every chance you get.  They have to know who you are and know you are a source of encouragement and positive energy that can help them by being a resource to success until they learn to stand on their own.

Now, if you are at this point, and you have completed the other steps well, this part will be easier.  You have ignited their need, now it is time to direct them to where they want to go.  You have to show them opportunities, help them recognize it, and show them how to move toward it.  Along the way, figure out ways to make life easier for you and them.  When you do, it will spark ideas in them to look for other opportunities.  Here's the example of the podcast reference.

Also, opportunities like this one come along.  It is good experience for someone to learn how well they work independently.
