Today we continue with the text and see that their is so much here to learn. Paul establishes who he is with great authority while including the lesser known Timothy as a familiar face. From their he engages with a series of well wishes for the saints and faithful who Paul loved in spite of the fact that they had not yet met face to face. Their FAITH will go on display as being tremendous in versus 4 as they are reminded that true faith comes only from the Gospel of God. What an enormous endeavor to study this exciting book. Thanks for being a part of our new study in the book of Colossians. In this first episode we begin with a "self introduction to the book" where we prepare our minds to allow the biblical text to become a commentary to itself. By the end of today's class we will attempt to cover Col 1:1-2. The entire study will take 26-30 weeks and will be a verses by verse study directly from the text. In this study we discuses more than the need for faithfulness but offer seven ways to faithfully endure from the inspired knowledge of God found in Hebrews 12:1-4. The entire lesson comes from these verses. This lesson was presented in Waco, GA and was developed from an earlier study consisting of nearly four hours of materiel. What an amazing text God has offered us. I look forward to studying further and expanding the series to six hours to be used for a Gospel Meeting. (You will understand why when you hear my frustration as time runs short).

I had the privilege of speaking today at Munford Middle School to a great group of young people concerning the need for organ donation. These young people are being touched like never before by one of their own who is fighting for her life awaiting a heart/ lung transplant. Today almost 123,000 people await new organs in the US along. Of that number 22 will die each day waiting simply because the supply does not meet the demand. Death is a tragic thing but the gift of life that is made possible through organ donation is a wonderful blessing. I should know I received a new heart 29 month ago (5/23/13). During this same program a group of young people expressed this need through a drama they put together and did a wonderful job. Also a touching tribute was paid to the little girl who awaits the transplants at MMS. Make a decision to donate, register and tell your family of your decision
