She used to hold many different fund raisers that have helped many women in the years since it started. Karen also talks about how mammogram screening is down 40% which she says is concerning.

Jeff Slakey sat down with local historian, Don Trosper, to talk about his new book “The Tumwater We Never Knew”. It contains 40 short stories about the history of the city. During the conversation, taped in the Parlor Room of the historic Schmidt House, Jeff and Don talked about the house, the founding of New Market before it was called Tumwater, How Leopold Schmidt changed everything when he came here, and much more.

Dawn Myers and Jeff Slakey walk through the Huff & Puff Trail by Shelton High School to talk about a fun fundraiser that is coming up at the end of October.

Here's information from their facebook page... SHS Senior Booster Parents are putting on a Haunted Trail at the Huff N Puff last weekend of the month. There will be a kid friendly time from 5-7pm and then 7-10 for the scare time. Price is $6 per person. Children 0-2 are free. If you bring a can or box food donation receive $1 off admissions or families of 5 for $20. This a fundraiser to help send the Senior Class of 2022 on a Senior Grad Night Party. Shoutout to the Boy Scouts for volunteering for this event.
