Jeff Slakey sat down with the Shelton School District Superintendent Wyeth Jessee on Monday, October 4 to talk about a range of issues relating to COVID. The vaccination window is now pretty much closed for those who intend to be fully vaccinated by the Governor's orders of October 18. Over 50 staff submitted forms for medical or religious exemptions. Superintendent Jessee talks about the results of a survey put out to the parents of students in the district and the majority wanted to keep in-person learning happening as well as keeping the students safe. Superintendent Jessee also talks about the uptick in protests and demonstrations, including walkouts that may be occurring and how those can be distractions to the learning process.

If you haven't contacted or worked a plan with PUD 1, PUD 3 or your power provider you need to do that before October 1. In PUD 1 territory, people will start to be disconnected.

Mason County Sheriff Casey Salisbury caught up with Jeff Slakey and talked about the organizational structure at MCSO, some recent awards that have been presented and more on the Sheriff's office including volunteers that help keep things going.
