Shelton Highclimbers take on the Gig Harbor Tides for week 1 after the Mason County Cup was cancelled this week due to COVID protocols at North Mason. There are two overdose awareness walks coming up at the end of the month in Shelton and Belfair. It's the fifth year folks have been walking to raise awareness of overdose in Mason County. Abe Gardner and Jamie Ellertsen came on iFIBER One KMAS to talk about the walks and the meaning behind them. The walk on August 31 in Shelton gathers at 5:45pm at Kneeland Park with the walk at 6pm. The Belfair walk on September 1 is at the same time, 5:45pm but meets at the Timberland Regional Library in Belfair.

Ben Johnson and Abe Gardner came on iFIBER One KMAS to talk about upcoming Overdose Awareness Walks, the LEAD program and other options available for people in Mason County to get help if needed from substance abuse.

City Council will be returning to virtual meetings, beginning at their Tuesday, August 24 study session. Shelton Council Members Eric Onisko and Joe Schmit talk about the decision and how they want everyone to be safe. Virtual Council meetings will be held using the Zoom platform, and the majority of meetings will continue to be live streamed through MasonWebTV.
