The 2018 Farm Bill, if passed, will set US farm policy for the next 5 years and cost some US $87 billion annually. Some of this spending will go toward the US farm safety net, which includes price and income support programs, conservation programs, and crop insurance.
Co-hosted with the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), this seminar will launch the two-volume analysis of farm policy, Agricultural Policy in Disarray: Reforming the US Farm Bill, published by AEI press. The study’s three coeditors, Vincent Smith, Joseph Glauber, and Barry Goodwin, will be discussing the proposed bill and the farm safety net.
