  • Star Wars: Andor Actor Also Wants a Battlefront 3 - IGN Daily Fix
In today's Daily Fix:The internet is clamoring for a new Star Wars Battlefront game, and an actual Star Wars actor has joined their ranks. Muhanned Ben Amor—Wilmon in Star Wars: Andor—has been a fan of Battlefront 2 since its launch (he even has the game hours to prove it), and would love a Battlefront 3. Unfortunately, EA and DICE are busy with a new Battlefront game, so Star Wars fans may be waiting a while. In other news, The Last of Us co-creator Neil Druckmann has given his definitive answer on Part 1's (and season 1's) controversial ending. Needless to say, the fan community seems split. And finally, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford has commented on the internet's comments on his comments about possibly paying $80 for Borderlands 4. Expect more comments from the internet.

In today's Daily Fix:There's a new Donkey Kong game dropping on the Nintendo Switch 2 later this year, and some of you may be wondering why Donkey Kong looks a little bit different than he used to. DK's creator, legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto, explains why. In Xbox news, a bunch of retro classics are coming to Game Pass, including titles like Pitfall, Commando, and MechWarrior. According to Microsoft, this is in keeping with their comittment to "game preservation and backwards compatibility," so good on them, we say. And in related Game Pass news, Wave 2 of the May selection of games are coming down the pipe, headlined by deckbuilding game Monster Train 2, Tales of Kenzera: ZAU, and The Division 2. • Gearbox CEO Says Borderlands 4's "Real Fans" Will Find a Way to Pay $80 - IGN Daily Fix
In today's Daily Fix:Borderlands 4 is the latest game caught up in the industry-wide price hike discussion, even though Gearbox and Take-Two haven't announced its price yet. But that didn't stop Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford for making some comments that the gaming public didn't exactly appreciate. Although he didn't confirm or deny an $80 pricetag, Pitchford said on social media that real fans would find a way to "make it happen" if they wanted to buy the game. Yikes. In other news, Stellar Blade 2 is officially a go, with a tentative release window of 2027. And finally, in entertainment news, Predator fans think one of the hunters in the upcoming animated film, Predator: Killer of Killers, is wearing a cape made of—wait for it—xenomorph tails. If true, that's pretty badass. And there's an even more direct crossover between the Alien and Predator franchises coming later this summer, in the live-action film Predator: Badlands.

  • GTA 6 Delay Will Cost Games Industry $2.7B, But Take-Two Swears It's On Schedule - IGN Daily Fix
In today's Daily Fix:Grand Theft Auto 6's delay disappointed a lot of gamers, but probably disappointed retailers even more. Analysts at Ampere are suggesting that the delay will cost the games industry around $2.7 billion dollars. The money isn't gone, however, merely moved to next year when GTA 6 drops on May 26. Speaking of that date, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick is confident that Rockstar Games can hit that date. Let's hope so—there's $2.7 billion riding on it. And finally, Nintendo will make a return to the Gamescom show in Germany this year. Nintendo skipped last year's show, but with a new console and a handful of brand new first-party games coming this year, they have plenty to show off.

  • Red Dead Redemption 2 Rumored To Get Switch 2 Version and Next-Gen Upgrade - IGN Daily Fix
In today's Daily Fix:Red Dead Redemption 2 could be getting a Nintendo Switch 2 port, according to sources close to Rockstar Games. The port would be the first for a Nintendo console, with the first Red Dead Redemption getting a Switch 1 port in 2023, 13 years after it first debuted on the PS3 and Xbox 360. The RDR2 Switch 2 port would also coincide with a current-gen PS5/Series X|S port. In other news, Fortnite's Star Wars crossover event just dropped an AI-powered Darth Vader that reacts to what you say to it. And of course, gamers have found a way to make Vader make some NSFW words (which was quickly patched out). And finally, Hideo Kojima doesn't want mortality to stop him from releasing games. He's setting up a plan to leave his studio, Kojima Productions, with some unfinished game ideas in the event of his passing.

  • GTA 4 Needs a Remaster, Says Ex-Rockstar Dev - IGN Daily Fix
In today's Daily Fix:Grand Theft Auto 6 won't be gracing our consoles until 2026, but what if we had another GTA to hold us over? That's what former Rockstar technical director Obbe Vermeij is suggesting when asked about the rumors of a GTA 4 remaster. With the Oblivion remaster selling well (despite performance problems on all platforms), Rockstar could port GTA 4 to a more modern engine and let us roam around Liberty City before hitting up Vice City in GTA 6. Rockstar has not announced anything officially, but "insiders" are suggesting otherwise. In other news, Stellar Blade will be the next Sony-published game landing on PC next month. The new version will feature new outfits and a new boss to fight (those things are also likely to make their way to the PS5 version, as well). And finally, Prime Video's Fallout will drop its second season this December, and a third will be in production sometime after that.

  • The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered Has Problems Across the Board - IGN Daily Fix
In today's Daily Fix:The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered has been out for several weeks now, and the more gamers put time into it, the more problems they find. Our colleagues at Digital Foundry ran tests on all available versions of the game, and found significant performance issues on the console and PC versions. One of the worst issues would be a hard crash of the game that happens when loading the same save too many times, and a camera problem when playing the game for too long. There's also framerate hiccups all throughout the game across all versions. In slightly happier news, Tony Hawk wants a remake of Tony Hawk's Underground, the sub-franchise of the popular skating games that debuted in 2003. With the release of Tony Hawk's 3 + 4 later this year, we could be one step closer to another remake. And finally, Marvel's Thunderbolts*—sorry, Marvel's The New Avengers—remained number 1 at the domestic box office in its second weekend. The latest entry in the MCU dropped about 44%, which is less than the second week drops of Captain America: Brave new World, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, and the third Ant-Man movie. Globally, New Avengers is approaching $280 million, but needs to hit around $360 million to "break even" for Disney.

  • Nintendo Can Brick Your Switch 2 in Updated User Agreement - IGN Daily Fix
In today's Daily Fix:Nintendo has been updating their user licensing agreement for Nintendo Switch Online, and not surprisingly, they want to punish people for violating their terms and conditions. If you're caught modding, hacking, reverse engineering, or doing a number of other things to their hardware or software, Nintendo reserves the right to render your Nintendo device "unusable in whole or in part." In other words: they'll brick your Switch or presumably your Switch 2. Oh, and they may listen in on your Switch Online voice chats, too. In other news, famed game designer Hideki Kamiya wants to go back to his hit 2001 action game, Devil May Cry. The game spawned a successful franchise, but Kamiya definitely sees how dated the gameplay is. After he's done rebooting Okami for Capcom, he'd like a shot at Devil May Cry (not counting the reboot DmC, which he was not a part of). And finally, the next installment in the Godzilla x Kong series is in production, with a 2027 release date. Godzilla x Kong: Supernova suggest a space theme, and we might finally get an appearance from SpaceGodzilla.
