We’ve been on a journey through the book of James, constantly challenged to not just be hearers of the Word but doers—to look into the Bible as a mirror and examine ourselves, not as a magnifying glass to inspect the flaws of others.
This week, James 4:1-10 confronts us with a deeper truth: our outward struggles are a reflection of inward battles. Many people seek therapy to change behavior, and while behavior modification has its place, true transformation happens at the heart level.
Jesus, in the Sermon on the Mount, taught that sin is not just about actions—it begins in the heart. James follows this same line of thinking, exposing the root cause of conflict, pride, and spiritual stagnation.
The question we must ask today is: Are we trying to modify our behavior, or are we allowing God to transform our hearts?
