  • Consider the blameless, observe the upright; a future awaits those who seek peace.
    Psalm 25:1-7
    1 In you, Lord my God,
        I put my trust.
    2 I trust in you;
        do not let me be put to shame,
        nor let my enemies triumph over me.
    3 No one who hopes in you
        will ever be put to shame,
    but shame will come on those
        who are treacherous without cause.
    4 Show me your ways, Lord,
        teach me your paths.
    5 Guide me in your truth and teach me,
        for you are God my Savior,
        and my hope is in you all day long.
    6 Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love,
        for they are from of old.
    7 Do not remember the sins of my youth
        and my rebellious ways;
    according to your love remember me,
        for you, Lord, are good.

  • If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God.
    Hebrews 10:22
    22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.
    Romans 8:1
    1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
    Psalm 103:12
    12 as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

  • Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
    Psalm 107:1-9
    1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.  2 Let the redeemed of the LORD tell their story— those he redeemed from the hand of the foe, 3 those he gathered from the lands, from east and west, from north and south. 4 Some wandered in desert wastelands, finding no way to a city where they could settle. 5 They were hungry and thirsty, and their lives ebbed away. 6 Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. 7 He led them by a straight way to a city where they could settle. 8 Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, 9 for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.

  • Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
    Psalms 1:1-6
    1 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers,  2 but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night.  3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.  4 Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away.  5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.  6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.

  • God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
    God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
    Psalm 123:1-4
    1 I lift up my eyes to you, to you who sit enthroned in heaven.  2 As the eyes of slaves look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a female slave look to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the LORD our God, till he shows us his mercy.  3 Have mercy on us, LORD, have mercy on us, for we have endured no end of contempt.  4 We have endured no end of ridicule from the arrogant, of contempt from the proud.

  • Anger resides in the lap of fools.
    Psalm 91:9-16
    9 If you say, “The LORD is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, 10 no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. 11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; 12 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. 13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. 14 “Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. 15 He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

  • Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.
    Romans 12:1-8
    1Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. 3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. 4 For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your[a] faith; 7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; 8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

  • Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Be strong and courageous.
    Psalm 73: 21-28
    21 When I became embittered
    and my innermost being was wounded,
    22 I was stupid and didn’t understand;
    I was an unthinking animal toward You.
    23 Yet I am always with You;
    You hold my right hand.
    24 You guide me with Your counsel,
    and afterward You will take me up in glory.
    25 Who do I have in heaven but You?
    And I desire nothing on earth but You.
    26 My flesh and my heart may fail,
    but God is the strength of my heart,
    my portion forever.
    27 Those far from You will certainly perish;
    You destroy all who are unfaithful to You.
    28 But as for me, God’s presence is my good.
    I have made the Lord God my refuge,
    so I can tell about all You do.

  • Your view of God makes all the difference as to how you view life.
    Psalm 13:1-6
    1 How long, LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?  2 How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me?  3 Look on me and answer, LORD my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death,  4 and my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,” and my foes will rejoice when I fall.  5 But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.  6 I will sing the LORD’s praise, for he has been good to me.

  • Lord, you are the potter, I am the clay!
    Jeremiah 18:1-10
     1 The Lord gave another message to Jeremiah. He said, 2 “Go down to the potter’s shop, and I will speak to you there.” 3 So I did as he told me and found the potter working at his wheel. 4 But the jar he was making did not turn out as he had hoped, so he crushed it into a lump of clay again and started over. 5 Then the Lord gave me this message: 6 “O Israel, can I not do to you as this potter has done to his clay? As the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand. 7 If I announce that a certain nation or kingdom is to be uprooted, torn down, and destroyed, 8 but then that nation renounces its evil ways, I will not destroy it as I had planned. 9 And if I announce that I will plant and build up a certain nation or kingdom, 10 but then that nation turns to evil and refuses to obey me, I will not bless it as I said I would.
