  • Pride is a spiritual cancer. Do not let it destroy you.
    Psalm 103:1-14
    1 Praise the LORD, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. 2 Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— 3 who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, 4 who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, 5 who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. 6 The LORD works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed. 7 He made known his ways to Moses, his deeds to the people of Israel: 8 The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. 9 He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; 10 he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. 11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; 12 as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. 13 As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him; 14 for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.

  • You can not grow without giving things up.
    Psalm 31:14-24
    14 But I trust in you, LORD; I say, “You are my God.” 15 My times are in your hands; deliver me from the hands of my enemies, from those who pursue me. 16 Let your face shine on your servant; save me in your unfailing love. 17 Let me not be put to shame, LORD, for I have cried out to you; but let the wicked be put to shame and be silent in the realm of the dead. 18 Let their lying lips be silenced, for with pride and contempt they speak arrogantly against the righteous. 19 How abundant are the good things that you have stored up for those who fear you, that you bestow in the sight of all, on those who take refuge in you. 20 In the shelter of your presence you hide them from all human intrigues; you keep them safe in your dwelling from accusing tongues. 21 Praise be to the LORD, for he showed me the wonders of his love when I was in a city under siege. 22 In my alarm I said, “I am cut off from your sight!” Yet you heard my cry for mercy when I called to you for help. 23 Love the LORD, all his faithful people! The LORD preserves those who are true to him, but the proud he pays back in full. 24 Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the LORD.

  • When God’s in it…it flows!
    Psalm 91:9-16
    9 If you say, “The LORD is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, 10 no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. 11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; 12 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. 13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. 14 “Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. 15 He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

  • Solitude can reenergize ones faith!
    Psalm 1:1-6 1 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, 2 but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night. 3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers. 4 Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. 5Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. 6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.

  • Spirit of the living God fall fresh on me!
    Psalm 116:1-7
    1 I love the Lord, for he heard my voice;
        he heard my cry for mercy.
    2 Because he turned his ear to me,
        I will call on him as long as I live.
    3 The cords of death entangled me,
        the anguish of the grave came over me;
        I was overcome by distress and sorrow.
    4 Then I called on the name of the Lord:
        “Lord, save me!”
    5 The Lord is gracious and righteous;
        our God is full of compassion.
    6 The Lord protects the unwary;
        when I was brought low, he saved me.
    7 Return to your rest, my soul,
        for the Lord has been good to you.

  • The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.
    Psalm 25:1-7
    1 In you, Lord my God,
        I put my trust.
    2 I trust in you;
        do not let me be put to shame,
        nor let my enemies triumph over me.
    3 No one who hopes in you
        will ever be put to shame,
    but shame will come on those
        who are treacherous without cause.
    4 Show me your ways, Lord,
        teach me your paths.
    5 Guide me in your truth and teach me,
        for you are God my Savior,
        and my hope is in you all day long.
    6 Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love,
        for they are from of old.
    7 Do not remember the sins of my youth
        and my rebellious ways;
    according to your love remember me,
        for you, Lord, are good.

  • God will turn what might have been into a lesson of spiritual growth.
    Psalm 51:1-19
    1 Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions.  2 Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. 3 For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me.  4 Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight; so you are right in your verdict and justified when you judge.  5 Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.  6 Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb; you taught me wisdom in that secret place.  7 Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.  8 Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice. 9 Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity.  10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.  11 Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.  12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.  13 Then I will teach transgressors your ways, so that sinners will turn back to you.  14 Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, you who are God my Savior, and my tongue will sing of your righteousness.  15 Open my lips, Lord, and my mouth will declare your praise.  16 You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.  17 My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.  18 May it please you to prosper Zion, to build up the walls of Jerusalem.  19 Then you will delight in the sacrifices of the righteous, in burnt offerings offered whole; then bulls will be offered on your altar.

  • The joy of Lord begins in the morning!
    Psalm 119:1-8
    1 Blessed are those whose ways are blameless,
        who walk according to the law of the Lord.
    2 Blessed are those who keep his statutes
        and seek him with all their heart—
    3 they do no wrong
        but follow his ways.
    4 You have laid down precepts
        that are to be fully obeyed.
    5 Oh, that my ways were steadfast
        in obeying your decrees!
    6 Then I would not be put to shame
        when I consider all your commands.
    7 I will praise you with an upright heart
        as I learn your righteous laws.
    8 I will obey your decrees;
        do not utterly forsake me.

  • Light is sweet, and it pleases the eyes to see the sun.
    Psalm 73: 21-28
    21 When I became embittered
    and my innermost being was wounded,
    22 I was stupid and didn’t understand;
    I was an unthinking animal toward You.
    23 Yet I am always with You;
    You hold my right hand.
    24 You guide me with Your counsel,
    and afterward You will take me up in glory.
    25 Who do I have in heaven but You?
    And I desire nothing on earth but You.
    26 My flesh and my heart may fail,
    but God is the strength of my heart,
    my portion forever.
    27 Those far from You will certainly perish;
    You destroy all who are unfaithful to You.
    28 But as for me, God’s presence is my good.
    I have made the Lord God my refuge,
    so I can tell about all You do.

  • A heart of peace gives life to the body!
    Psalm 33:16-22
    16 No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength. 17 A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strength it cannot save. 18 But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,
    19 to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine. 20 We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. 21 In him our hearts rejoice,
    for we trust in his holy name. 22 May your unfailing love be with us,Lord, even as we put our hope in you.
