  • Forgiveness is giving up the perceived right to get even!
    Psalm 130:1-8
1 Out of the depths I cry to you, LORD;  2 Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy.  3 If you, LORD, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand?  4 But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you.  5 I wait for the LORD, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope.  6 I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning.  7 Israel, put your hope in the LORD, for with the LORD is unfailing love and with him is full redemption.  8 He himself will redeem Israel from all their sins.

  • Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
    Psalm 51:1-15
1 Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.
3 For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me.
4 Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight; so you are right in your verdict and justified when you judge.
5 Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.
6 Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb; you taught me wisdom in that secret place.
7 Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
8 Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice.
9 Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity.
10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
13 Then I will teach transgressors your ways, so that sinners will turn back to you.
14Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, you who are God my Savior, and my tongue will sing of your righteousness.
15 Open my lips, Lord, and my mouth will declare your praise.

  • "Who is the Rock except our God? It is God who arms me with strength.”
    Psalm 123:1-4
1 I lift up my eyes to you, to you who sit enthroned in heaven.  2 As the eyes of slaves look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a female slave look to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the LORD our God, till he shows us his mercy.  3 Have mercy on us, LORD, have mercy on us, for we have endured no end of contempt.  4 We have endured no end of ridicule from the arrogant, of contempt from the proud.

  • If we plant good things then that is what we will reap.
    Psalm 122:1-9
1 I rejoiced with those who said to me,
“Let us go to the house of the Lord.”
    2 Our feet are standing
    in your gates, Jerusalem.
3 Jerusalem is built like a city
    that is closely compacted together.
4 That is where the tribes go up—
    the tribes of the Lord—
to praise the name of the Lord
according to the statute given to Israel.
5 There stand the thrones for judgment,
the thrones of the house of David.
6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
“May those who love you be secure.
7 May there be peace within your walls
    and security within your citadels.
8 For the sake of my family and friends,
I will say, “Peace be within you.”
9 For the sake of the house of the Lord our God,
    I will seek your prosperity.

  • "You save the humble but bring low those whose eyes are haughty."
    Psalm 4:1-8
1 Answer me when I call to you, my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; have mercy on me and hear my prayer.  2 How long will you people turn my glory into shame? How long will you love delusions and seek false gods  3 Know that the LORD has set apart his faithful servant for himself; the LORD hears when I call to him.  4 Trembl and do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent.  5 Offer the sacrifices of the righteous and trust in the LORD.  6 Many, LORD, are asking, “Who will bring us prosperity?” Let the light of your face shine on us.  7 Fill my heart with joy when their grain and new wine abound.  8 In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety.
