There are many references to mountains in Scripture. While some are significant Tdue to the events that occurred there, only one mountain is described as "sacred"
by the Apostle Peter. The term "sacred" means blessed, hallowed, consecrated,
sanctified, dedicated, spiritual, devotional, and ecclesiastical. In the context of the
church, a mountain symbolically refers to the presence of God. The place is sacred because it is where great and glorious things happen.
As we ascend the "sacred mountain" to be with Jesus, just as Peter and the other
privileged disciples did, during these 21 days, may the eternal weight of glory rest upon each of our lives in Jesus' name. Amen.

Say Hi

Thank God for another Christmas service. This is the first Christmas for some. But may it not be the last Christmas for any of us, in Jesus' Name.
This particular Christmas is a special one for somebody.
The Lord has sent me to somebody to tell you that your consolation has come. You
will see it; you will embrace it and you will praise God for it. So shall it be, in Jesus'
Name. Amen.

The matter of eternity should daily be of paramount concern to every man.
We all should be daily living our lives with eternity in view.
The truth from scripture is that there is another life after this life.
This current life we are living is supposed to be “a preparation for our next life.”
Somehow, all men know that there is another life beyond this present life.
Somebody may say how come? The answer is clear in Ecc. 3:11(NLT).
“God has ... planted eternity in the human heart.”
Therefore, the truth remains that all men are made to live forever! We are “made for immortality.” The issue is where will you spend your eternity? Where are you going from here?
This message is prepared, not just to remind us about our eternity, but to help some people here, this morning, to settle the matter of their eternal destination by ensuring that their names are written in the book of life.

Review of 2024, Budget, Theme and other events in IBC

Paul achieved two main things in the book of Philippians: appreciation and
instruction. Since my Pastor has given me this awesome privilege to bring the
Word today, it will not be out of order for me to say a word of appreciation
to God and to the church. I will not be too detailed this morning because of time,
but God really helped me in the last three years of doctoral study.
Paul’s closing appeal for steadfastness and unity brings much to reflect on.
In Philippians 4, we are more conversant with verses 4, 13, 19. (If you believe
in Philippians 4:19, you will not be involved in “419”).

Preceding these verses is an issue we want to focus on today as we consider the
topic: Advancing in the Spirit of Reconciliation. Text: Philippians 4:1-5.
The passage begins by focusing on two characters: Euodia and Syntyche. What
do we know about the two characters?
