I'll Be Honest

How easily this world seeks to draw you into anything and everything that is not about Jesus Christ. Jesus said that for some the Word they hear is choked out by the cares, riches, and pleasures of this world.

The book of Proverbs provides us invaluable wisdom on godly qualities that a man should be looking for in a prospective wife, as well as qualities that every godly woman should be striving for. What are some of these precious characteristics that make a woman an excellent wife?

Psalm 22 is not primarily about David but it is about Jesus Christ on the Cross. We see aspects of the Cross here that should cause us to all the more glory in Christ’s death on our behalf.

Will there be a Fellowship Conference this year? Yes, we are planning to, Lord willing, host the conference in Denton, Texas, on April 1-4, 2021. However, due to the current climate of constant change in government mandates, we are moving the usual January 1st registration back to February 1st. Currently, Camp Copass, whose facilities we have used to host the conference for the past decade, can host us. We ask that you all would pray that the Lord would keep the door open; and that God would have His hand upon this conference.

Long ago God made a promise that the light of His glory from the nation of Israel (a small nation off the Mediterranean Sea) would spread to the entire world and sweep people in from every nation. This promise was initially fulfilled when Jesus came to this earth, and this promise is continually being fulfilled in our day. Multitudes from different nations are seeing the glory of Jesus Christ and being brought into the kingdom of God. This is the greatest news in the world, and it's the only news that matters.

A common device of the Devil is to get Christians to doubt the genuineness of their conversion based on their testimony, feelings, or experiences. The Devil may try to get you to doubt the validity of your conversion by comparing you to others who seem to have had very amazing experiences. But remember, someone can have an apparently amazing experience and end up falling away and proving to be false. Remember what the hymn says...I dare not trust the sweetest frame but wholly rest on Jesus' Name.

Have you ever heard the illustration that says faith in Christ is like sitting in a chair? That's not faith; that is just doing statistical analysis and realizing the majority of chairs don't collapse when you sit on them. The Bible defines faith as believing God to do exactly what He's promised to do....even when it's humanly impossible...even when you have to hope against hope (Romans 4:18).

May 29, 2002, was another one of those cold, damp, spring days in Northern Michigan. Overcast, rainy, cool. Nothing out of the ordinary except for one factor. That was the day our 19-year-old son, Jonathan, died. What do you do when your child dies? How do you respond? They don’t prepare you for this when you receive premarital counseling. The prenatal classes don’t prepare you. How do you handle it?

What are you hoping for in this life? What one of your hopes do you want to come to pass more than all the rest? Is your ultimate hope fixed on the joy of seeing Christ in heaven?

“Believers who go to heaven?” Don’t all believers go to heaven? Doesn’t John 3:16 say whoever believes has eternal life? Yes, John 3:16 does say that and we believe that. Just as John 3:16 says that, however, Scripture – which cannot and does not contradict itself – also says there are some believers who will NOT receive eternal life. We need only go to Matthew 7, verses 21, 22 and 23 for that as Jesus pronounces judgment upon the miracle workers who called him, “Lord, Lord!” We have another video on our channel which address the people of Matthew 7 – today, we want to look at this issue: the believers who go to heaven – what do they look like? How can you know you are a believer who goes to heaven?
