SIMON ROWE, Japan-based Storyteller and Screenwriter - grew up in small-town New Zealand and big city Australia when orange Fanta came in glass bottles and AM radio was king. At twenty-one, he shipped off for the rest of the world and for the rest of his life has somehow managed to make a living by writing and teaching about it. His articles and photographs have appeared in TIME (Asia), The New York Times, Lonely Planet guidebooks, the South China Morning Post, and the Paris Review. He now calls Japan home and blogs about his life in a traditional neighborhood in Himeji city.

PETER MACINTOSH is a Canadian, entrepreneur, mixed media artist, and geisha culture guru living in Kyoto since 1993. He was a location scout and cultural liaison for Hollywood’s adaptation of Arthur Golden’s best-selling novel “Memoirs of a Geisha”. Ultimately, these experiences inspired Peter to make his own documentary, Real Women, Real Geisha (2009).
