There’s a myth out there. “To be a true artist, you need to be a starving artist.” But most people who’ve tried to cultivate life as an artist realize at some point: scarcity doesn’t breed creativity.  Unfortunately, it’s easy to undervalue art when it’s often seen as a hobby and not a profession.  So what’s needed? A recalibration of the creative economy in which artists, patrons, and businesses all value the contribution of arts & culture to our community. Giving artists a way to thrive, and not just survive.
