Jillian Mercado is an actress and model, currently acting on The L Word: Generation Q. She is one of the first models with a visible physical disability (due to muscular dystrophy) and has continually challenged beauty standards in the fashion industry. Throughout her career, Jillian has worked to fight for representation and tackle stigmas associated with the disabled community.

Charlotte Zoller is a writer, digital creator, model, and creative consultant based in Los Angeles. Her Teen Vogue column, Ask A Fat Girl, explores living life in a larger body. She began her career as a music photographer, which led her to digital and social strategy for brands like Pitchfork, VH1, and Kickstarter. She also happens to be one of my favorite people to follow on Instagram!

On this week's episode of I’m Over It, I sat down with producer, writer, advocate, and survivor of D.O.S & NXIVM, India Oxenberg. You most likely have heard about NXIVM as it’s been in the news quite a lot this past year! You may have even watched a documentary or two. The Vow, an HBO documentary that follows multiple people’s experience trying to get out NXIVM, or Seduced on Starz, which India produced herself. 

 

India also wrote a book titled “Still Learning”, which details her experience before, during, and after NXIVM. “Still Learning” is available on Audible now! 

 

I also highly recommend tuning into Seduced, which is a four-part series narrated by India herself, focusing specifically on stories of the women who were indoctrinated, blackmailed, coerced, and eventually recruited into the sex cult D.O.S., along with their path to healing.

At only 25, Scarlett has published two books: Feminists Don't Wear Pink and Other Lies, and It’s Not Okay to Feel Blue & other lies, wrote a weekly column for The Sunday Times Style (she’s currently a contributing editor), and has co-founded the activist collective, The Pink Protest.
