Generation Z has already been labeled the “Screenagers.” Statistics reveal that 57% of the Z’ers spend a minimum of 4 hours a day on their devices, and 26% spend 8 hours or more. (2018 statistics, 9 hr. per day) This shouldn’t be too shocking knowing their Millennial parents average 3-5 hours per day.

A motive is something that causes a person to act. Motive implies an emotion or desire operating on the will and making a choice. Motive requires impulse & suggests a driving power arising from personal temperament or cultural inducement. This suggests that a motive is prompted by deliberate enticements or allurements of another.

The modality that drives the internet will be the “method-of-madness” that drives Generation Z. As a final outcome, they will prefer knowledge acquired from “search engines” with little emphasis on faith.

The only solution to this demise is through establishing a Christ-as-Life Worldview in and through this present generation. That starts with being awakened by the Holy Spirit, first to be indwelt by Christ’s mind/Life and secondly, by allowing His mind within the authentic believer to develop a worldview that is founded & managed from Heaven. The “human interaction effect” is the idea that we grow to like and to be like people around us. When we hang out on a regular basis with fellow indwelt believers who prioritize living out the Life of Christ, we’re more likely to do likewise. Humans exemplify the behaviors of those they associate. No wonder the writer of Hebrews was so adamant about regular church gatherings (see 10:23–25); keeping faith with faithful people fosters faithfulness in & through Christ – THAT IS IF THEY ARE INDWELT BY HIM.
