  • #33 My Heart Undressed: Another Bite

    Listen to the podcast version:

    ANOTHER BITE

Last month was one of those months, filled with many days where I just wanted to run away from life. I wanted to escape the messy, work-in-progress-piles scattered on my desk amidst tending wounds of loss from a variety of sources. My mind felt conflicted & scattered. My desk looked like how my soul felt. I wanted out! It’s obvious to me that I have no control over time, interruptions or unforeseen glitches. My family tells me I’m “good” at details. But as I grow older, I find myself easily exasperated by tasks that take longer than I think they should. My brain plans like I’m still in my forties, while my body screams that I’m not. 😊

In my moments of internal battling against my own fatigue & mental defeat, I’m reminded that there’s really nothing new under the sun when it comes to my natural bent toward independence & wanting life to go my way. My control says, “Let’s keep things short, sweet, & simple.” That way, I can move on to the tasks that I’d rather be doing, or that I planned to do but had to put off. Because it feels like the clock is ticking faster than it used to. And I might not accomplish the things that mean the most to me.

In my lifetime, I’ve often heard many folks sarcastically blame their earthly trials on Adam & Eve. Granted, their consequences from disobedience in the Garden weren’t pretty. But in all honesty, if they hadn’t messed things up, it would’ve been someone else, at some point, don’t you think? It might even have been me...or you. The proverbial apple, the insatiable quest for knowledge to gain control, is always dangling at the forefront of our minds. I can only speak for myself, but I have daily opportunities to recognize this battle in my life. The enemy hasn’t really changed his tactics either. He taunts us & lies to us, in his efforts to draw us away from intimacy & dependency on Jesus Christ. Like in his appeal to Eve, Satan can make personal “smarts” look so delectable that we easily forget the devastation that eventually follows from our fleshly, me-first choices. He comes in through the backdoors of secrecy, shame, deception, & distortion of Scripture. (See 2 Corinthians 4:2)

Can you think of any sin that isn’t rooted in a lie? The apple still looks so beautiful & incredibly appealing! One time won’t matter. And who would ever know? So, we take another bite, enjoying the crispy crunch as the juice runs down our chin. We rationalize away the itty-bitty shortcut we chose instead of holding out for God’s best. We easily forget that even our personal consequences can have increasing ripple effects in the lives of other people…people we love. We blame someone else for our actions or, in some cases, for our inaction. Adam blamed Eve & she blamed the serpent. Ultimately, they blamed their Creator. Pride reared its ugly head & they panicked when they heard God calling them. In Truth, can’t we all identify? Satan had successfully deceived them by twisting God’s Words. Raw exposure shamed them, so they ran to avoid personal responsibility. Ever since that day, avoiding authority comes as natural to our flesh as breathing does to our physical bodies.

I don’t believe God was caught off guard by the Fall in Eden. Saddened maybe, by having a heaven-on-earth existence ungratefully thrown back in His face. And for what gain? Nothing, absolutely nothing! The resulting spiritual & relational death affected every living thing…to this day. We can criticize Adam & Eve. We entertain theological discussions on why we think the fall happened. We can even feel bad for their spiritual stupidity. I mean, they did know the Truth, right? They had lived perfection & threw it away. They walked with God & sold Him out for a bite. Long term, Adam warred with basing his value & identity on work; assessing how well he controlled the weeds. Eve loved Adam but waged her own internal battles between submitting & the desire to control her husband. And their kids, now conceived & raised in pain, well…they hated each other…to the point of murder. Some trade-off.

I believe it’s hypocrisy to blame Adam & Eve for the consequences of our choices today. Or to blame anyone else for that matter. I can empathize with Eve’s internal struggle while she stared at that forbidden fruit. Can’t you smell the scent…feel the pull of the possibilities… & identify with a slowly encroaching spiritual amnesia? Eve’s weakened resolve led to the momentary forgetfulness of Whose she was & the inheritance she had already been given. Adam’s second-guessing hesitation was all it took for him to cave & join her in another bite. Life as they knew it crumbled in a split second! Instant shame led them to hide. I get that. I can recall my feelings before, during, & after I made a stupid choice, one where I knew better, but thought that maybe just once, it wouldn’t matter. Conviction can make you feel sick.

Jesus Christ fulfilled His Father’s reconciliation requirements to secure our redemption. He shed His blood on the Cross. He took our place & bore the punishment we deserved. He conquered the power of sin & death. We are no longer helpless captives to our own fleshy desires, to the lies of the enemy, or to the ungodly draw of the world. In Christ alone, we can live victoriously—moment by moment. Because of His indwelling life, via the gift of His Holy Spirit at salvation, we no longer need to live daily depending on ourselves & our own resources. JESUS IS OUR HOPE! He loves us & has miraculously restored us to the Father. He rerouted our eternal destiny from a tormenting life separated from God’s presence (hell) to a glorious eternity, in His presence, as His Bride (heaven).

In the meantime, we have been given our own spiritual Garden of Eden fellowship, worshiping Him in Spirit and in Truth, & honoring Him with transformed lives. (Romans 12: 1&2)

  • FREEDOM CALLS: Freed from Stubbornness

Stubbornness clings to self-will, defends pride, and delays the healing that only Christ can bring.

Yet when the indwelling Life of Yeshua breaks through, the grip of stubbornness begins to loosen—not by force, but by grace. Freedom doesn’t come from trying harder; it comes from yielding deeper. In that sacred exchange, the soul discovers that true strength is found not in control, but in being mastered by mercy.

Stubbornness Versus the Indwelling Mind of Yeshua:

    THE BACK STORY

Recently, late one night, I was stirred from sleep by what I can only describe as a vision-dream—supernatural in nature, vivid in clarity, and unmistakably Holy in origin. Yeshua walked with me in the calm of the day. It wasn’t chaotic or symbolic; it was precise. I found myself standing in a vast field with Him, surrounded by people whose faces were tense with resistance. Their arms were crossed, their brows furrowed, and their feet planted firmly in the soil. I knew instantly: this was the posture of stubbornness. Not rebellion in the loud sense, but a quiet, immovable refusal to yield. And then, Yeshua spoke to me—not external, but rising from within me: “This is the war within My people. They cling to their own thoughts while My mind waits to be released.”

I awoke with urgency. Not fear, not confusion—but a holy summons. The Spirit impressed upon me that this message was not for me alone, but for the Body. Stubbornness, He said, is not just a selfish flaw—it is a spiritual blockade. It resists the renewing of the mind, it delays obedience, and it keeps believers tethered to their own understanding. Instantly, I realized that the tragedy is that they are weak, but also that they are unwilling to be made strong through the Holy Spirit. I knew that the Lord is not asking for better behavior—He is calling for a divine exchange: our thoughts for His, our reasoning for His revelation, our control for His indwelling counsel. Then He said, “Awaken, and write.”

I wrote this essay, and the above song in obedience to His nudging because I believe many are being called to release the grip of self-will and receive the mind of Christ—not as a theological concept, but as a living reality. The indwelling Life of Yeshua is not passive; it is active, wise, and ready to govern. But it will not compete with stubbornness. It waits for surrender. If you’ve felt stuck, weary, or resistant, I urge you: let go. The mind of Christ is not just available—it is already within you, waiting to be released.

Jeremiah 7:24 “But they did not obey or incline their ear, but walked in their own counsels and the stubbornness of their evil hearts, and went backward and not forward.”

The Nature of Stubbornness: One Step Forward & Two Backward

Stubbornness, in its rawest form, is not a personality trait—it is a spiritual posture of resistance, which equates to divination/witchcraft (1 Samuel 15:23). Scripture often equates stubbornness with rebellion, pride, and a hardness of heart. In Deuteronomy 9:6, the Lord declares to Israel, “You are a stiff-necked people,” exposing the spiritual defiance that hinders covenantal intimacy. Stubbornness builds fortresses around the soul, shielding it from conviction, correction, and transformation. It is the flesh’s last stand against obedience, a refusal to be mastered by anything other than self-will.

This resistance is not passive; it is an active form of warfare against the Spirit. The stubborn heart resists the voice of the Lord, rationalizes sin, and delays obedience. It clings to control, even when that control leads to chaos. In theological terms, stubbornness is the antithesis of yieldedness—the soul attempts to enthrone itself in place of Christ. Above Christ.

In contrast, the indwelling Life of Yeshua is the supernatural antidote to stubbornness. Like my song states, it is not a moral upgrade or behavioral improvement—it is the supernatural replacement of the old life with the Life of Christ Himself. Galatians 2:20 declares, “It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.” This is not a metaphor—it is mystery incarnate. The believer does not merely imitate Christ; he is indwelt by Him.

Where stubbornness demands autonomy, the indwelling Life invites release. Where the flesh resists, the Spirit woos. The Life of Yeshua does not negotiate with stubbornness—it crucifies it. Through the cross, the believer is not reformed but reborn. The stubborn heart is not rehabilitated; it is replaced. This is the divine exchange: my will for His, my strength for His sufficiency, my resistance for His rest.

The Battle Within: Flesh Versus Spirit

Theologically, this tension is not resolved by discipline alone but by death and resurrection. Romans 8:7 reveals that “the mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God.” Stubbornness is not neutral—it is enmity. But the Spirit does not cohabitate with rebellion. He confronts it, convicts it, and calls it to the cross.

The believer must choose daily: to walk after the flesh or to walk in the Spirit. This is not a behavioral decision but a relational one. The indwelling Life of Yeshua is not activated by effort but by abiding. As the soul yields, the Spirit reigns. As the heart softens, Christ is revealed from the inside out. The stubbornness that once ruled is dethroned—not by force, but by love.

The Fruit of Surrender & Obedience: A Life Transformed

When stubbornness is crucified and the Life of Yeshua is enthroned, the transformation is unmistakable. The believer becomes teachable, tender, and obedient. The heart that once resisted now responds. The mind that once argued now agrees. The will that once rebelled now rejoices in submission.

This is not weakness—it is holy strength. It is the power of a life mastered by mercy, governed by grace, and animated by the indwelling Christ.

The stubborn soul becomes a sanctuary for selfishness. The rebellious heart can become a resting place for the Spirit. And the life once marked by resistance becomes a vessel of revelation. It is time to come out of that field.

  • RISE LIKE THUNDER

    By Dr. Stephen Phinney

A new wave of prophetic voices is rising—young, resolute, unshaken by culture, and deeply anchored in the heart of Yeshua, and our ministry is front and center motivating this movement. They will not prophesy for applause or popularity; they will cry out from the secret place, shaped by purity, intercession, and surrender. These prophets will not advance trends—they will challenge them. Their boldness will offend, their mercy will heal, and their words will bear the weight of Heaven’s justice.

This generation is being forged in silence, in suffering, in rejection—and in revival. They will speak with holy fire, wield Scripture with precision, and call lukewarm hearts to repentance. Like Jeremiah, they will weep. Like Ezekiel, they will see. Like John the Baptist, they will prepare the way. They are not called to entertain—they are summoned to confront and awaken. Their lives will be their message.

And they are coming. Not with smooth speech, but with Spirit-breathed clarity. Not with titles, but with tears. Not with performance—but with power.

    THE END TIMES FOG

In a world thick with spiritual fog, moral compromise, and cultural confusion, Gen-Z will not be silent—they will rise like thunder. Though their generation has been labeled distracted, deconstructed, and disillusioned, Heaven sees a remnant stirred by truth, forged in fire, and baptized in boldness. These sons and daughters are being awakened—not by hype or religion, but by the indwelling life of Yeshua. They will not blend in. They will not back down. They will speak the Gospel with clarity and live with surrender, even when it costs them everything. Like lightning against a stormy sky, their obedience will expose darkness and call their peers out of apathy.

They are the Davids who will run toward giants, the Esthers who will fast in the face of destruction, the Josiahs who will tear down altars of compromise. Raised in a digital age, they will use its tools to proclaim holiness, identity, and prophetic truth. Their hunger will outpace entertainment. Their worship will defy trends. And their cry will shake the lukewarm. The culture may plague them with lies, but they will plague the culture with light. Heaven’s justice will thunder through their testimony. And the earth will know—they were chosen for this hour.

My grandson Wyatt is no ordinary young man—he’s rising like thunder in a storm-swept generation, grounded in Yeshua and armored for the fight of faith. You can see it in his eyes, hear it in his prayers, and feel it in the way he speaks truth without apology. He was born for this hour—not to blend in, but to break through. Like David with a sling, Wyatt is stepping into battles far greater than himself, yet utterly confident in the One who lives within him.

He doesn’t shrink from opposition—he’s stirred by it. Because the fight he’s called to isn’t just for himself, it’s for the broken, the silenced, the forgotten. The Spirit of Yeshua pulses through him, bold and unshaken. And as darkness tries to shout louder, Wyatt's life declares even louder: “I was made for war—and peace is my weapon.” Heaven is watching. Hell is trembling. And the earth will know that one of God’s thunderous sons has awakened.

    FINAL DAYS

As the final days of humanity unfold, the remnant of Gen-Z will not go quietly—they will rise as torchbearers of Truth, piercing deception with conviction drawn from the very heartbeat of Heaven. They were not shaped in ease but refined in fire, and what remains is a generation unwilling to compromise.

These are the ones who will not trade righteousness for relevance, who will stand when others bow, and who will speak when silence is demanded.

Their voices will carry more than opinions—they will carry prophecy, purity, and the piercing wisdom of Yeshua’s indwelling life.

In the face of persecution, digital distortion, and cultural decay, this remnant will not retreat—they will declare. They will bring Truth not as a suggestion, but as a summons. Like final trumpets before the King returns, their lives will echo justice, holiness, and urgent mercy. And while the world rushes toward endings, Gen-Z’s faithful few will rush toward eternity—unafraid, unwavering, and ablaze. The last chapter belongs to the ones who refused to forget Who they belong to and what they were born to proclaim. Truth will thunder. And the remnant will lead it.

  • ABIDING LIFE SERIES | Abide in Me

“Abide in Me” | Written by Stephen Phinney | Vocalist Elijah Musika | Produced by iZ Music Productions

ABIDING LIFE SERIES | 7-Areas of Life

Jane and I have spent a lifetime ministering to individuals and families who long for wholeness but remain fractured by compartmentalized living.

We’ve watched countless believers pursue spiritual growth while neglecting emotional wounds, relational breakdowns, or financial chaos—never realizing that the Life of Christ was meant to indwell every area of their existence. That’s why we’re writing this series: to proclaim that the Abiding Life is not a theological concept reserved for Sunday mornings, but a transformative reality meant to saturate the spiritual, psychological, social, physical, parental, marital, and financial dimensions of life. Each book will serve as a prophetic invitation to stop striving, start abiding, and allow Christ’s indwelling presence to reorder every corner of the soul.

Our burden is rooted in decades of discipleship, counseling, and personal testimony.

We’ve seen firsthand how believers struggle to reconcile their faith with the pressures of daily living—how spiritual truths often remain disconnected from emotional health, parenting challenges, or financial stewardship. The enemy thrives in these gaps, sowing confusion, division, and despair. But when the believer begins to abide in Christ—not just in prayer, but in thought, emotion, relationship, and responsibility—those gaps close. The Seven Areas of Life are not random categories; they are battlegrounds where the old thought patterns left behind by the old nature’s condition, which seeks dominance and where the indwelling Life must be invited to reign.

This series is also deeply personal. Jane and I have warred through seasons of grief, relational strain, and ministry fatigue, learning through surrender that Christ is not merely sufficient—He is supreme.

We’ve watched Him heal psychological trauma, restore broken relationships, and provide in ways that defy logic. These books will not offer formulas or self-help strategies. They will offer Christ. Each volume will be rooted in Scripture, saturated in testimony, and designed to equip readers to walk in abiding victory—not by managing life, but by exchanging it. Our prayer is that this series will awaken a generation to the fullness of Christ’s indwelling Life and commission them to live whole, holy, and wholly His.

Abiding in Yeshua is not merely a spiritual discipline—it is the essence of the believer’s union with the indwelling Christ. In John 15, Yeshua declares, “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me.” This abiding is not passive proximity; it is active dependence. It means remaining, dwelling, and continuing in Him—not just in moments of prayer or worship, but in every thought, decision, and relationship. The biblical view of abiding is rooted in surrender from within, where the believer ceases from striving and allows the Life of Yeshua to flow through every area of existence. It is the divine exchange: our weakness for His strength, our confusion for His clarity, our flesh for His Spirit.

Scripture reveals that abiding is the only pathway to fruitfulness, peace, and spiritual authority.

It is not a method to master, but a Person to receive. Galatians 2:20 echoes this truth: “It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.” The abiding believer does not live by effort, emotion, or external validation, but by the indwelling presence of Messiah. This union transforms the mind, sanctifies the body, and restores identity. It is the antidote to the busy mind, the fractured soul, and the striving heart. To abide in Yeshua is to live from His Life, not for Him—and in that Life, the believer finds rest, renewal, and the power to walk whole and holy.

The abiding Life of Christ is not merely a spiritual benefit—it is the very foundation of the believer’s identity in and through Yeshua.

When a person is born again, they are not improved; they are exchanged. The old nature, with its self-driven identity, is crucified, and the believer receives a new identity rooted in the indwelling presence of Messiah. This abiding Life defines who we are, how we think, and how we live. It is no longer “I” who defines the self, but Christ who lives within (Galatians 2:20). In Him, identity is no longer shaped by performance, emotion, or circumstance—it is anchored in eternal union.

The believer is not just connected to Yeshua; they are inhabited by Him. This truth dismantles the striving mind and restores the soul to rest, clarity, and purpose. Abiding is not optional—it is the only way to live as who we truly are: sons and daughters indwelt by the Life that cannot be shaken.

  • #32 My Heart Undressed: Hidden Closets

    HIDDEN CLOSETS

With the changing of seasons, I’m always motivated to reassess, inventory, & purge our external lives of any unnecessary, worn-out, or rarely used items. At our house, this means cleaning out closets, clearing the basement of extra items, & jotting down potential maintenance needs. Today it’s beautifully cool outside. And with all the local schools back in session, Fall doesn’t seem all that far away. I’m a planner because I was taught to be one. I might miss some things. But life has enough surprises without overlooking the things I can do something about right now.

I grew up fascinated with closets. My grandparents had intriguing attics in their old houses. With their permission, I would often go explore the upstairs rooms that held glimpses of the past. I loved the wallpaper & the furniture, as well as revisiting the familiar things that were tied to my life. It went without saying that I would responsibly leave the premises in the same condition in which I found it. My own childhood attic ran the entire length of our upstairs. In addition to reminders of family history, it stored items we often used. So I knew exactly what went where! And why. The system was sensible & made the needed retrieval easier.

My sorting adventures frequently remind me that closets & attics are much like our hearts. They have doors, though that doesn’t necessarily mean that the entrance is initially visible. Some closets are locked & require a key (permission) to gain entry. Generally, that key is given only to those with whom a trusting relationship has been built---over time. When a closet door is opened, the natural inclination is to turn on the light, revealing the depth of the room, the contents & the dimly lit corners.

Our lives are a compilation of personal history that forms our life story. We store those treasured chapters in our hearts…our personal hiding place. The details that formed our self-perception can be filed, boxed & taped shut, or simply thrown into a corner of our soul. Some folks wear their hearts on their sleeves, so to speak. What you see is what you get. Their closet doors are open & some have no doors at all. You are free to roam in your discovery of how they became who they are. Others barely let you get your foot through a crack in the door. There is little to no communication freedom, & no welcome sign that invites you to peek into those files, open the boxes, or rummage through the messy piles in random corners.

I learned a long time ago that the best of human intentions has limitations. We are imperfect people living in an imperfect world. We aren’t designed by God to carry the weight of all that life dishes out, by ourselves. There’s not a person alive who won’t let you down at some juncture in life. At first glance, I tend to be more reserved, preferring to observe facial expressions & physical reactions. This tells me a lot about what might be inside a closet of the heart. Personally, I’m put off by pushy, outspoken people who try to bang down my door & barge in. Consequently, I try to be considerate by tactfully waiting to be asked inside.

There is only ONE 100% safe relationship that I know of. That results from an ever-increasing intimacy of knowing the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior, Lord & Life. The Bible is inexhaustible in its proof of God’s loving plan & purposes for our lives. The more I read it for comfort & study it to gain understanding, the more I know by confirmed life experience that I am powerless to help myself. Jeremiah 10:23 says that we don’t even know what’s best for us. In His kindness, God leads us to repentance (Acts 4:19, Romans 2:4). He forgives us first (Psalm130:4, Ephesians 4:12). He gave Jesus to us out of His great love (John 3:16) & we can’t truly love separate from abiding in Him (I John 4:7-21). God can be trusted because He does NOT lie (Numbers 23:19, Hebrews 6:18). He doesn’t accept bribes or show partiality (Deut.10:17), & He doesn’t change (Malachi 3:6). That noted FACT is comforting to me! He collects our tears (Psalm 56:8), hears our prayers (Psalm 65:2), & carries our burdens (Matthew 11:28-30).

The Lord Jesus can be trusted with the key to the door of your heart. He calls you & then He waits…because He isn’t pushy. His love breaks down the barriers of fear & resistance, so that the offer of salvation through the indwelling Spirit is yours to believe & to receive. He “turns on the light” to reveal your struggles, pain, & the lies you’ve owned as your truth. In the security of His love & forgiveness, you are empowered to face what you’ve so long denied. It’s a process. But then, & only then, can He faithfully sort through your files, gently open/reveal/heal the taped boxes of secrets, & free you from the encumbrance of the messy piles in the dark corners.

“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has SET YOU FREE from the law of sin & death.” (Romans 8:1&2) Will you give Him your key?

  • OUT OF THE CAVE: Repetitive Redemption

I did not choose grief. It chose me.

It wraps itself around the heart like a fog, shielding us from the full weight of sorrow we are not yet ready to bear. In those early moments, emotions feel suspended, reality blurred, and time strangely distorted.

We may move through routines mechanically, speak in hushed tones, or feel disconnected from our surroundings. This numbness is not denial—it is survival. It allows the spirit to breathe while the heart begins to process the unthinkable. Even in Scripture, we see this grace at work: when Job received news of his children’s death, he tore his robe and fell to the ground in worship—not because he felt nothing, but because he was held in the tension between shock and surrender. Protective numbness is not the absence of indwelling faith—it is the quiet space where indwelling faith begins to awaken.

Like a thief in the night, it crept into my soul—uninvited, unrelenting, and unfamiliar. It shattered my rhythms, silenced my laughter, and left me staring into midnight, and I could not escape.

I searched for answers in the dark but found only isolation. I cried out to God, and for a time, it felt as though heaven had closed its doors.

But grief, I have learned, is not the absence of God—it is the place where He draws near.

In the midnight of my soul, I discovered the Man of Sorrows, acquainted with grief (Isaiah 53:3). He did not offer me platitudes. He offered me His presence. He did not erase my pain. He entered it. And in that sacred exchange, I began to see what I could not see before: that midnight is not the end of the story.

There is joy in the morning!

This book is not a roadmap out of sorrow. It is a testimony of walking through it—with the One who conquered death, who weeps with those who mourn, and who promises joy in the morning (Psalm 30:5). It is for those who feel stuck in the shadows, unsure if the sun will ever rise again. It is for the brokenhearted, the weary, the questioning, and the waiting.

I have known sorrow before. I’ve walked through valleys, prayed through storms, and stood beside others as they buried their loved ones. But nothing prepared me for the ache of losing one of my best friends. It was not just the absence of a person—it was the tearing of a soul-thread, woven through years of laughter, prayer, shared burdens, and sacred trust. When he left this earth, something in me collapsed. The world didn’t just feel quieter—it felt hollow.

Grief came swiftly, but not loudly. It was not a scream—it was a silence that thundered.

I found myself reaching for the phone to text him, only to remember. I scrolled through old messages, reread emails, and lingered over photos that now felt like relics of a life interrupted. The sorrow was not just emotional—it was spiritual. It provoked a lament I had never known, a groaning too deep for words (Romans 8:26). I wept not only for what was lost, but for what would never be again on this side of eternity.

This friend was more than a companion—he was a covenant brother. We carried each other’s burdens, spoke truth in love, and dreamed of revival together. His absence left a void that no one else could fill. And yet, amid that void, I sensed the whisper of the Comforter. Not to erase the pain, but to sanctify it. To remind me that love this deep is never wasted, and that grief this profound is a testimony to the gift we were given.

I do not pretend to understand the timing. I do not rush to explain the mystery. But I do know this: my sorrow has become sacred ground. It has driven me to the feet of Yeshua in ways I never imagined. It has stripped away pretense and awakened a longing for eternity that no earthly joy could satisfy. And in the midnight of this loss, I began to see glimmers of morning—not because the pain is gone, but because His presence remains.

Yeshua called me to write this—not as a theologian, not as a teacher, but as a grieving friend.

In the quiet aftermath of loss, when words failed and tears spoke louder than sermons, I heard His gentle prompting: “There are others.” Others who, like me, were blindsided by the depth of sorrow, surprised by the flood of emotions that surged without warning. This grief was not tidy. It did not follow the script. And yet, in the chaos of mourning, I sensed His heart—for those who feel overwhelmed, confused, even ashamed by the intensity of their pain. He reminded me that grief is not weakness—it is evidence of love. And love, when surrendered to Him, becomes a pathway to healing.

  • YESHUA'S SECOND COMING!

This book distills centuries of complex prophecy into a digestible narrative, tracing God's divine timeline with clarity and doctrinal integrity.

By weaving together foundational texts, it unveils the consistent thread of Christ’s return woven throughout the entire Bible. Perfect for seasoned scholars and curious readers alike, The Second Coming transforms prophetic intricacies into Spirit-led insights that stir both hope and readiness.

    MY STORY:

The Second Coming of Yeshua/Jesus Christ is not a peripheral doctrine tucked away in obscure passages—it is the climactic hope of all biblical prophecy. From Genesis to Revelation, the Word of God paints a cohesive and awe-inspiring picture of a returning King who will establish justice, confront rebellion, and gather His Bride in glory.

This book is born out of a burden—one that has stirred in me for decades.

It is the prophetic urgency that comes with watching a culture spiral deeper into deception while the Church, in many cases, grows distracted or desensitized to the hour at hand. Yet Scripture does not leave us blind or aimless. The Spirit has given us signs, warnings, and promises that demand our attention and shape our response.

In these pages, I do not seek to entertain or speculate, but to proclaim what the Bible declares with conviction and clarity: that Christ will return bodily, visibly, and victoriously to fulfill what He began at Calvary and confirm what He spoke in eternity past. We will explore the timelines, the warnings, the triumphs, and the judgments—not through modern lenses, but through biblical ones.

For years, I taught the indwelling life of Christ with unwavering passion, declaring with conviction that true salvation is not simply a belief system, or “following,” but the life of Yeshua taking residence within the believer.

And while I still hold this as a foundational truth, there came a moment when I realized that proclaiming the indwelling without preaching the culmination is to leave the Church mid-sentence. The Messiah does not indwell us to merely sustain us in this fallen world—He indwells to prepare, purify, and position us for His soon return. Without the eschatological dimension, we risk crafting a gospel that comforts but doesn’t awaken.

The study of the End Times—eschatology—is not optional theology for the sensational or speculative. It is the prophetic frame that gives the indwelling life its urgency and direction. When I finally stepped into the deeper waters of eschatological teaching, I saw how the Spirit was aligning hearts not just to endure, but to anticipate. The Second Coming is not a sidebar doctrine—it is the destination of indwelling life fulfilled. To ignore it is to abandon the finishing chapters of the redemption story. What God begins in us must be proclaimed, considering what He is about to complete in the world.

Over time, I’ve come to realize that the depth of theological truth often gets lost in translation—not because the truth lacks power, but because the modern reader often lacks patience. We live in a culture of scrolling minds and abbreviated attention spans, where scholastic tomes are admired but rarely consumed. That’s why I’ve turned to an aphoristic style: compact truths wrapped in sharp, memorable statements. It’s not a compromise of doctrine—it’s a strategic pivot for accessibility. Each aphorism serves as a seed, intentionally planted to spark reflection, conviction, and God willing, a hunger to dig deeper into the soil of Scripture. If the culture won’t sit for the lecture, perhaps they’ll carry the line into their day and let the Spirit unfold it in time.

Finally, there’s a fire in me to make the roadmap of the End Times plain and graspable—to offer believers a quick yet potent chronological capture of what Scripture clearly lays out.

Not everyone has time for thick commentaries or theological dissertations, but they do deserve clarity. My passion is to provide a Spirit-led sequence that cuts through the fog of speculation and delivers the unfolding events—from Creation to the Rapture, to Tribulation, to the Millennial Reign and Final Judgment—with biblical precision. It’s not about sensationalism; it’s about equipping souls to discern the times and live in readiness. If one well-crafted page can awaken urgency and fuel eternal perspective, then it’s worth every word.

My prayer is that every reader would rediscover what it means to “love His appearing” (2 Timothy 4:8), and to walk in daily readiness, holiness, and consecration as we await the return of our Lord.

This is not a moment in history—it is the destiny of the redeemed. May this work stir hearts, renew minds, and align us with Heaven’s timetable.

For those who typically find themselves in apprehension and dread of Scripture's brutally described end-time events, Dr. Phinney's work brings clarity, confidence, and a joyful anticipation of the culmination of our loving Father's promises to redeem and restore all those who have surrendered to his sovereignty and care. I will be sharing this book with many, many people! Thank you again, Dr. Phinney! -Gregory Jones

I am confident that if you purchase this book, it will become one of those classic monographs or foundational works—a timeless eschatological keeper. ORDER HERE

  • #31 My Heart Undressed: Your Strongest Supporter

For over four decades, I’ve watched my wife Jane pour her heart into every word she writes. Her devotionals aren’t just reflections—they’re revelations. Time and again, I’ve seen lives transformed by the gentle power of her pen, guided by the Spirit and anchored in truth. Jane’s writings carry a rare depth that speaks to the soul, offering comfort, conviction, and clarity in a world desperate for all three. I’m honored to walk beside her, and even more honored to witness the ripple effect of her faith-filled words across generations. - Stephen

    Listen to the podcast version:

    YOUR STRONGEST SUPPORTER

One of the Hebrew names for God, Elroi, is first recorded in Genesis 16:13. Hagar had been set up, & then rejected, by her mistress Sarai. Because God spoke to her when she was driven away, she called on the “God who sees me.” No human can see what’s going on in your soul. In fact, if we’re honest, most of the time we don’t even understand ourselves completely. But as our Creator, our heavenly Father most assuredly does.

How comforting is it, for you, to know that God sees you, 24/7? Sometimes that truth can make us squirm a little, because we erroneously think that we can hide from Him. The enemy delights to deceive us into thinking we have more control than we do. Or we lie to ourselves, about ourselves. It’s like a toddler who covers their eyes & is convinced that because they can’t see you, you can’t see them. Truthfully, there isn’t a place we can go, or run away to, that our Creator isn’t fully aware of us. Proverbs 15:3 says, “The eyes of the Lord are in every place, watching the good & the evil.” Jeremiah 16:7 asserts, “For My eyes are on all their ways; they are not hidden from My face, nor is their iniquity concealed from my eyes. Job says, “Does He not see my ways, & number my steps?” (31:4) “He does not withdraw His eyes from the righteous.” (36:7) “He looks to the ends of the earth & sees everything under the heavens.” (28:24) “For He knows false men & He sees iniquity without investigating.” (11:11)

The first verse that pops into my head when remembering that God sees me, is 2 Chronicles 16:9. “For the eyes of the Lord move to & fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His. (Most people stop reading at this point.) I ponder the “completely.” Hm-m…to the best of my understanding, is my heart all His? Complete, in original Hebrew, means whole, perfect, & a just measure. God requires obedience & He gives us every opportunity to repent. The wholeness referred to is found in restored relationships, living in harmony with Him. So, a heart completely His would be a prerequisite to His strong support. Some folks “check-in” with God, laying claim to His promises when they’re in a crisis. But our life in Christ isn’t a hotel, or a rest stop, where we come & go as we please. It’s a full-on occupation by the Holy Spirit. We embrace the whole Truth, not just the part that makes us feel better with a quick fix. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out why withholding from God would bring warring in our souls, or even in our relationships. The last part of vs 9 says it best. “You have acted foolishly in this. Indeed, from now on you will surely have wars.” Sometimes we are our own worst enemy.

Although no one is perfected in their life experience while living on earth, our heavenly Father accepts us unconditionally when we have believed in, & received, the Lord Jesus Christ. As His children, He desires the intention of our heart to be wholly devoted to Him. It’s a growing & learning process, yielding to Him as we move throughout the day. Then “the God who sees” becomes a very welcoming thought & a secure place to run to. He is our strength, rock, fortress, deliverer, refuge, shield, & stronghold. He rescues us, lights our way, trains us & protects us. (Psalm 18) He is our stability (faithfulness)…the source of salvation, wisdom, & knowledge. Our true treasure is reverencing the Lord, recognizing Him as all-powerful (Isaiah 33:6). Who wouldn’t want to be seen by a loving, sovereign God like this?? What a privilege!

I love it that when I’m awake, & alone, in the wee hours of the morning, He sees me. I love it that I can pour out my heart to Him & know that He won’t reject me. I love it that He sees inside my mind & emotions and helps me sort out the Truth of the matter at hand…even when I might not want to look at it the way He does. I love it that the Truth of His Word moves me past my self-perception of rejection, to embrace His love. I love it that He hears my tearful, grappling prayers & He comforts me. My situation might not change but I am released from the entrapment in my soul. I love it that He reveals Himself in small ways, that minister to my heart. He sees me, no matter what I’m doing or where I’m going.

Today I am processing sudden loss. One sunny day in July, we had our monthly day-long meeting with our closest Kansas friends. We have a special heart connect in Jesus. We share life’s trials, we share what God is doing in our lives, & we pray for each other’s kids. Sometimes we laugh…often at ourselves. Four days later, Gale was admitted to the hospital. Three weeks later he went Home. We can blame the virus. But the fact remains, Gale could not surpass the number of months that God had set for him. (Job 14:5) We just didn’t know that day was now. I’m thankful that when the 4 of us said goodbye, I hugged Gale & told him that I loved him.

Steve’s tribute was read at the close of the celebration service, ending with a song he wrote. Tears flowed freely. But now my mind is pulling up other memories. And I feel at loose ends. I picture Irma, his kids & grandkids without him. I picture 3 for lunch, instead of 4. And I feel helpless watching Steve process the reality of Gale’s absence. He retreats to mourn. I process out loud & tears trickle, unbidden. So in this day, I am praising God Almighty that HE SEES IT ALL!! Life goes on & is demanding. He is my Comforter.

What burdens are “pressing” on your soul today? What situations tempt you to feel overwhelmed or worn out? Perhaps your heart has been broken by betrayal in relationships…friends, family, or business partners. GOD SEES YOU. Maybe you’re worried about a wayward child, unpaid bills, or where your next meal is coming from. GOD SEES YOU. Perhaps you are a caregiver to someone you love, who has a life-long disability or a terminal illness. GOD SEES YOU. Maybe that promising job didn’t come through & your projected plan bit the dust. Now what?? GOD SEES YOU. Are you lonely, fearful, & concerned about an unknown, uncertain future? GOD SEES YOU.

Have your life dreams been thwarted & remain unfulfilled? GOD SEES YOU. Are you struggling with bitterness over an injustice done to you? GOD SEES YOU. Do you feel used, abused, or overlooked? GOD SEES YOU. The list is endless! All of us have unique trials, situations, & stories. But the truth remains… Your strongest supporter is the God who sees. Do you believe Him?

  • IOM AMERICA | CELEBRATING 25 YEARS

For a quarter of a century, we’ve stood firm in proclaiming the indwelling life of Yeshua, equipping believers to walk in truth, courage, and prophetic clarity. From humble beginnings to a global media outreach, this ministry has faithfully advanced Christ-centered discipleship, Hebrew-rooted devotionals, and transformational teaching across generations. As we celebrate this legacy, we honor the countless lives impacted, the spiritual battles won, and the unwavering mission that continues to shape the Church from the inside out. Here's to 25 years of Kingdom impact—and the next chapter of bold, Spirit-led ministry.

    Listen to the podcast version:

During President George W. Bush’s administration, serving on his Special Council, I served as a strategic leader in advancing the Faith-Based and Community Initiative by representing Arizona as President of the Arizona Faith-Based Alliance. Under this banner, I worked in direct alignment with the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, helping to mobilize churches, ministries, and community organizations to engage in federally supported outreach. Supposedly, my leadership played a vital role in removing barriers that had long prevented faith-based groups from accessing government resources, ensuring that spiritual integrity and biblical values remained central to social service efforts.

My involvement was marked by prophetic clarity and administrative excellence, bridging the gap between federal policy and grassroots ministry. Through conferences, strategic planning, and public advocacy, I assisted in shaping our nations faith leaders in contributing to a national movement that empowered faith communities to serve the poor, the marginalized, and the broken—without compromising their spiritual mission. My work reflected the heartbeat of compassionate conservatism, rooted in the indwelling life of Yeshua and committed to transforming culture from the inside out.

However, there was a glitch, 9-11!

The tragic events of September 11, 2001, dramatically shifted the priorities of President George W. Bush’s administration, placing national security and the war on terror at the forefront. As a result, the momentum behind the Faith-Based and Community Initiative—once a cornerstone of Bush’s domestic policy—was significantly disrupted. The initiative, designed to empower religious organizations to serve the poor and marginalized through federal partnerships, lost visibility and legislative traction amid the urgent demands of homeland defense and foreign conflict. Key figures like John DiIulio Jr., the first director of the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, departed shortly after the attacks, symbolizing the initiative’s sidelining. Though executive orders continued to support faith-based efforts, the broader vision of transforming social aid through spiritual partnerships was eclipsed by the administration’s new identity as a wartime presidency.

After Mr. Dilulio’s departure, a couple friends of mine, Director of Health and Human Services, Tommy Thompson & Alberto Gonzales, encouraged me to incorporate my home ministry of IOM America. Heeding the counsel and recognizing the shifting tides of national focus after 9/11, I humbly resigned my position with the White House Faith-Based Initiative. In obedience to a higher calling, I went on to establish IOM America as an official nonprofit—dedicated to proclaiming the indwelling life of Christ and equipping the Church with transformational biblical truth. Thus, in 2001, IOM was incorporated.

Before making the decision to resign my position, I struggled deeply—fully aware of the weight and significance of the choice before me.

One afternoon, after leaving Mr. Gonzales's office, I stood outside the building hoping to secure a taxi back to my hotel. But with rush hour in full swing, none were available.

Suddenly, a black presidential limousine pulled up in front of me. The window rolled down, and the driver leaned out, asking if I needed a ride. I responded, “Sir, I cannot afford such a ride—no thank you.” With a warm smile, he replied, “This one’s on me.” I climbed into the back seat, and off we went.

Immediately, he glanced into the rearview mirror and asked, “Are you a born-again believer?” Slightly stunned, I responded, “Yes, I am. Are you?” He smiled and replied, “You could say that.” Then, for the next hour—driving aimlessly around D.C. just to spend more time with me—this driver spoke of details from my life that only my wife and God could have known. It was deeply unnerving.

During our discussion, he spoke of prophetic events soon to unfold in the Middle East, and revealed that God was calling me to play a significant role in unveiling established prophecies and ministering to despairing souls in the End Times. He went on to instruct me to establish a ministry that would help advance this divine mission.

At first, I thought the man was crazy—but then I began to wonder if he was an angel sent by God. How else could he have known such private thoughts and intimate details about my life?

I asked him for his name. He simply replied, “My name matters not.” I then requested a business card, and he said, “Don’t worry—you will hear from me again.” He stepped out from behind the wheel, walked around to my door, opened it, and embraced me with a warm hug. As I approached the entrance of the hotel and the doorman reached to open the door, I turned for one final look—but the limousine had vanished. There was nothing there.

At that moment, I couldn’t tell if I was losing my mind or if I had truly encountered an angel of the Lord. I returned to my room, collapsed onto the bed in exhaustion, and everything faded to black. Almost instantly, I entered a vision—a dream so vivid it left no doubt. It confirmed that I must resign from my current position and establish IOM America as my final and lifelong mission.

IOM America was birthed out of a divine encounter—one that pierced through the ordinary and left no doubt that the Lord was commissioning a lifelong mission.

After a surreal conversation with a mysterious driver who seemed to know intimate details of my life, I was led to a vision that confirmed the calling: resign my current position and establish a ministry focused on unveiling prophetic truths and ministering to despairing souls in the End Times. This wasn’t a career pivot—it was a divine appointment.

The “why” was unmistakable. In a culture increasingly distracted from spiritual realities, God stirred a mandate to equip His people with clarity, courage, and Christ-centered resources. IOM America was established to be more than a media and discipleship platform—it was to become a voice in the wilderness, preparing hearts for the indwelling life of Yeshua and the prophetic fulfillment yet to unfold. Every article, broadcast, and teaching would serve that sacred mission. Today, this is the IOM America (Institute of Ministry) that I serve.

Special Note: I did hear from this gentleman again. One day, while working in my office, I received a call from the Governor’s office. They said, “We have someone here who needs to speak with you.” When they transferred the call, I instantly recognized the voice—it was my old angelic friend. Without hesitation, he outlined the mission in bullet-point detail, providing a clear roadmap for what needed to be done. That divine directive has guided me ever since; it’s the very mission I continue to carry out to this day.

So there you have it—the culmination of 25 years of mission work, faithfully fulfilling the prophetic calling upon my life and honoring the dedicated workers who have walked beside me on this sacred journey.

As we mark 25 years of prophetic ministry through IOM America, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to each of you who have stood with us—whether by reading our materials, watching our broadcasts, or sharing our message with others. Your prayerful engagement, words of encouragement, and faithful participation have sustained and energized our calling to equip the Body of Christ with the indwelling life of Yeshua. Every testimony, comment, and shared post shouts out the truth that this mission is not mine alone—it is ours, together.

To keep this sacred work thriving, I invite you to continue your partnership through three simple but powerful acts: forwarding our content to those hungry for truth, restacking our posts to amplify our prophetic reach, and giving gracefully as the Lord leads.

Your generosity—whether through time, treasure, or testimony—helps us press on toward the greater calling set before us. Together, we will continue to proclaim His truth boldly, disciple the nations, and prepare hearts for His return.

So, maybe—just maybe—we'll reach another marker of 25 years. But if the Rapture comes first, let it be said we were found faithfully laboring in His name, watching, working, and waiting for our Blessed Hope.

Until then, we press on with joy, knowing the harvest is great and the time is short.
