“The pass list is out” — the time has finally come for the Queen’s entrance exam. Anne is convinced she’ll fail — or worse, fall behind Gilbert Blythe.

“Where the brook and river meet” — both Marilla and Anne change over the course the year as Anne prepares for the entrance exam to Queen’s.

“The Queen’s class is organized” — Miss Stacey takes it upon herself to offer a special class for students who wanted to go on to Queen’s College. Marilla encourages Anne to — a gift which thrilled Anne in ways she’d dared not dreamed.

“An epoch in Anne’s life” — Diana makes her way over to Anne’s to offer a surprising and exciting invitation, one that proves to transform Anne’s way of seeing the world.

“An unfortunate lily maid” — Anne and her friends decide to act out a beloved scene from a poem they’d read at school — and in typical Anne Shirley fashion, things didn’t go exactly as expected.

“Vanity and vexation of spirit” — Anne gets herself into a new sort of trouble, one that neither she nor Marilla were prepared for.

“The story club is formed” — after the fun and creativity of the concert is over, Anne finds herself in need of a new outlet. Thankfully the opportunity presented itself in the form of a creative writing assignment that proved difficult for Diana and some other girls, and Anne had the bright idea to form a club to help them all.

“Matthew insists on puffed sleeves” — Christmas is approaching and Matthew has a sudden realization that Anne’s plain clothes make her look different from her school friends. That’s when he takes it upon himself to get Anne a very special Christmas present.

“Miss Stacey and her pupils get up a concert” — Anne, fully recovered from her broken ankle, is finally able to attend school. She instantly loves her new teacher, and especially thrives once she’s given a chance to take the stage.

“Anne comes to grief in an affair of honour” — at an end of summer party at the Barry’s, Anne gets dared to do something dangerous and, on her honour, she could not refuse.
