“Anne is invited out to tea” — having been invited to a very special tea, Anne gets both excited and nervous. She goes and discovers some news of great importance for her coming school year.

“A new departure in flavourings” — summer is here at last and Avonlea has a new minister, one Anne approves of. When Marilla invites the minister and his wife to Green Gables for tea, Anne insists that she makes them a cake, one that she hopes will greatly impress their guests.

“A good imagination gone wrong” — for the first time in her life, Anne’s vivid imagination has given her cause for unnecessary fear, and Marilla will have none of it.

“A concert, a catastrophe and a confession” — to celebrate Diana’s birthday, Anne is invited to spend the night at the Barry residence. After some persuasion, Marilla allows Anne to go, and the evening is both better and more treacherous than Anne could have imagined.

“Anne to the rescue” — on a cold wintery evening when many of the adults of Avonlea had journeyed to Charlottetown to hear a Canadian Premier speak, Anne and Matthew received an unexpected and urgent visitor who needed their help.

“A new interest in life” — Anne, still heartbroken from being separated from Diana, comes up with a plan to spend what time with her she can, even if they can’t be friends.

“Diana is invited to tea with tragic results” — Marilla has to go away for the day to Carmody, leaving Anne in charge of the house. She even gives Anne permission to have a friend over, although things don’t go according to plan.

“A tempest in the school teapot” — Anne starts school and everything goes smoother than either her or Marilla could have hoped… that is until Gilbert Blythe arrives.

“Anne’s confession” — when Marilla notices her special broach has gone missing, she questions Anne to see if she knows what might have happened. Anne admits to having touched it, but insists she put it back. This leads to a very tense few days leading up to the long anticipated picnic.

“The delights of anticipation” — after an afternoon of playing with Diana, Anne races home with exciting news of an upcoming event. Although she was late for her chores, she finds Marilla quite supportive of her attending, which plunges Anne into delightful anticipation of what’s to come.
