Former Prime Minister Scott Morrison has sparked a new debate in political circles about how to tackle Islamic extremism in the wake of the Bondi terror attack.

In a speech to an antisemitism conference in Israel this week, Mr Morrison urged Muslim leaders to establish accreditation for preachers, translate teachings into English and clamp down on links to foreign Islamist groups.
