As Lutherans, we believe, teach, and confess that our salvation is a gift from God, not a something that is owed us. We may forget that this gift includes being a part of the invisible Christian church and a local church. When we view our membership as a gift we will be better prepared to serve in joy and thankfulness

Let's look at what a healthy Christian family and a healthy church family looks like.

The church is diverse and is filled with people of different gifts and abilities. Pray for the leaders of your church; the volunteers who serve in many ways often overlooked, the leaders who give time to planning and maintaining ministry, the musicians and singers who work hard to bless our services with music, the Sunday School teachers who prepare and teach our kids, to the pastor who “pastors” you, all on behalf of the body of Christ. Prayer works and is a powerful gift to be used especially on behalf of your church leaders.

The body of Christ is blessed with diversity. Each of us have different gifts, talents, and opinions. If each is only concerned about getting their way and having their opinions met, peace, harmony and working together will be impossible.
